My Vizio Bluetooth remote with keyboard has stopped working. I have spoken with Vizio tech supp. to no avail. I have a remote I used with my old TV issued by Charter because I have Charter cable. I want to pair this remote to my Vizio remote and not worry about the Internet apps,etc. just turn on, off, mute, vol, channel etc. My charter remote does not have a SETUP button.

I would start with the Bluetooth module

Often you can only use "approved" input devices such as keyboards and remotes. This TV came with a Bluetooth remote that has a keyboard on it. You may not be able to connect any other keyboard to it. If you have a Bluetooth keyboard, you can try to connect it if the option is available in the menu (usually setup section). You can also call Vizio to verify if you can connect any other keyboard to the TV besides the remote that came with it.

This TV comes with a remote that connects to the TV via Bluetooth. It remembers which equipment is connected to the various inputs, and automatically changes the controls to match the input equipment - really nice! I found that it will control all my equipment, and since it works via bluetooth, you don't have to have direct line-of-sight to the TV. Wish that the bluetooth part worked for my satellite equipement too! Programmable remotes will operate this TV, but depending on how old they are, they may not be able to hit all the features of the tv - our older directv remotes will operate the basic features, but only the newer models will change the input source - so you may want to use the remote that came with the TV. We have smaller kids, and wanted to limit their use of the tv remote, because it has a slide-out keyboard similar to those on some cell phones to make posting to facebook (one of the apps that comes on the tv) easy. Since our youngest is 5, we thought it might be best to keep that remote out of harm's way.

Unfortunately, your QWERTY keyboard remote is only for input to the TV. You cannot use it as a computer keyboard and mouse.

You can use the Logitech MX Air Mouse and a Bluetooth keyboard if you want a quality solution. I have a Gyration Media Center Remote which I love but they don't make it anymore. You can search eBay for that if you're interested. You can also try this but I wouldn't have high expectations.

I just now called vizio and read your request word-for-word to their technical support person.
They have been known to fix these sets out of warranty. Although the girl said that she wasn't authorized to make that decision.
She told me to have you call this number 877-698-4946 Tomorrow when their level 3 technicians were available. She says that when you call the 1st tier tech support person will then send you one to these senior techs who can make the decision to cover it under warranty. My personal opinion is that they will take care of you. They say the "squeaky wheel gets the grease" I would go ahead and squeak. There is a link I've provided below to help.

My remote stopped working too. A universal remote from my cable provider also didn't work, so I assumed the problem was in the television itself.

The power going to the outlet was old and lacked a ground. I just rewired the outlet going to the TV with new Romex that is properly grounded and voila!

Hi, I had the same problem. My vizio remote for my 42 inch 2 month old vizio also seemed to stop working. Here's what I did: My vizio remote (like most remote's nowadays) was designed for multiple components (tv, dvd, vcr, etc). All you need to do to make the remote work again is set it back to tv. Now, the confusing thing about vizio remotes is that they actually have TWO places where you can switch the remote to the appliance you want to control. One is on top of the remote, the other is on the BOTTOM. Switch it back to TV using the BOTTOM. My remote had stopped working because I had inadvently switched it to another component on the BOTTOM component switch.

I read in another forum where Vizio sometimes uses Vidtech codes. I got 0205 to work on my new Vizio V037L with my Verizon FiOS remote (Phillips RC144).
