My Tv wont come on The power button lights up and it sats initializing and the screen goes black.can you help?

1 – Is the NO SIGNAL issue happening on just one TV?
CORRECT INPUT or SOURCE
If it is just one TV that is showing the NO SIGNAL…
-Be sure your TV is on the correct source or input as your CABLE or SAT BOX.
-Press the TV button on TV remote control to turn your TV ON.
-Press the INPUT button on your TV remote control.
-Cycle through all the inputs on your TV.
-Do this until you are on the INPUT your CABLE or SAT BOX is plugged into.
-You should then see the CABLE or SAT programming show on your TV.
HINT: Your TV will most likely list the TV INPUTS as: HDMI 1, HDMI 2, HDMI 3, VGA, Component 1, Component 2, and so on.
If you still see NO SIGNAL on your TV screen, see the next step below…

2 – If you have your TV on the correct INPUT or SOURCE and you still see NO SIGNAL…
CABLE OR SAT BOX NEEDS RESET
-Remove or unplug the power cable from the Cable TV or SAT set top box.
-Keep it unplugged for 2 to 3 minutes.
-Plug the power cable back into your Cable or SAT set top box.
-Give it some time for the Cable or SAT box to power up, get the signal, and initialize.
If you still see NO SIGNAL on your TV screen, see the next step below…

3 – If you have reset the Cable or SAT box and still have the NO SIGNAL…
UNPLUG THE CABLE GOING FROM THE TV TO YOUR CABLE OR SAT BOX
-Remove the HDMI cable or other cables from your Cable TV or SAT set top box.
-Keep the cable unplugged for 2 to 3 minutes.
-Plug the HDMI cable or other cables back in.
-Give it some time for the Cable or SAT box to get the signal and initialize.
HINT: Make sure all the cables that are connected to your Cable or SAT box and your TV are tight, undamaged, and secured.

4 – If all of your TVs are affected with the NO SIGNAL screen…
BE SURE THE COAX CABLES OR ETHERNET CABLES ARE SECURE or CABLE OR SAT IS DOWN TEMPORARILY
-Be sure to check the ones where the CABLE or SAT come into your home.
-Be sure ALL Ethernet and Coax cables are secure.
-Call your CABLE or SAT provider to see if there is an outage.
-Realign your Dish if you have SATELLITE.

did you hear the sounds? or maybe you have defective power source in hot side..

if your question is that if cable or sat converter goes off for any reason , will your tv display a black screen , then the answer is yes , without an input most all tv sets will display the opposite of full white , this being full black , also any on screen displays might not work as well (no video to sync too)

Hey john_aust127. I would need more information to provide you a specific resolution, but I can at least give you some information to get you on the right path.

You can follow this link: http://www.dishnetwork.com/SupportSection/remote-setup which contains more information on programming your remote to your receiver, along with codes to program your remote to the TV. I have also provided the steps for both below.

Addressing Remote to Receiver:

1.) Go to System Info screen.
2.) Hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up.
3.) Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote.
4.) Press the pound (#) button.
5.) Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record.
6.) Test remote and see if works.

Addressing Remote to TV:

1.) Press and hold the clear TV button until all mode lights light up.
2.) Release and TV light will be blinking.
3.) Enter code and press #. The TV button should flash 3 times.
4.) Try functions (Volume, Power, etc..) and see if working.
5.) If no function, repeat steps 1-4 with another code.

If this is an LED set I'd look at a backlight error, some lamps in the panel are bad and the power supply is shutting down the LED supply voltage because of over current or under voltage.

I most likely need additional information to ensure this is in fact the correct resolution to your remote issue- but it sounds as though the remote may be in tv mode. If this is in fact the problem, then the remote simply needs to be put into "SAT" mode, which will enable you to be able to press select to proceed past the DISH Network screen. The "SAT" button is labeled & in the upper left hand corner of the remote just press SAT once and then release, the button should briefly light up red & then will go off, you can then press select and as long as the SAT button lights up when you press select or any other button on the remote then your all set to go! hi hammonhph! I will be more than glad to assist you in this concern. Lets program the remote for tv2, lets make sure that the battery's are brand new, please go to the front panel of the receiver, make sure that u have the remote2 with, turn on the the tv1, you got picture, on the front panel of the receiver, you got 1 green and the blue light is off.. push the power button on the front panel of the receiver once to turn off the green light, once its off the tv will show a black, blue or snowy screen, push the up button on the fron panel of the receiver until it shows the system information screen, look for the primary and secondary remote address, primary and secondary remote address should show a number on the white box ex.. 1 and 1 on the green box, secondary is ex 2 on the white box and 2 on the blue box, how to reporgram the remote to the receiver.. press and hold the sat button and wait until all lights lit up, once it all lit up, release it and press any number from (1 to 15) but for this ex is press 9, then press the pound button (#) that is under number 9, once you press the pound button the sat button will flash 3 times and then press the record button once, record button is under the cancel button or view tv button, once you are done check the secondary remote address, it should be 9 on the white box and 2 on the blue box, save the settings by using the remote 1, selct done on the screen and it will go back again to black, blue or snowy screen, press the sat button once on the remote 2 and the big red power button, the blue light should turn on, just in case the blue light dont turn on, press the power button on the front panel of the receiver for 10sec to reset the receiver, it will acquire the sat signal and go to a progress, and it will download the programming guide, check if blue light is not on, press the big red power button on the remote2 to turn on the blue light and it should work. if just incase the blue light dont turn on, the remote is bad and you need to call 1-800-333-3474 for the replacement of the remote..please feel free to get in touch if you have any query..
