Directed Electronics Dei 528t Pulse Timer W Spdt Relay Module Logo
Posted on Aug 25, 2011

I have a horn that sounds when my hay baler chamber is full. I am looking for a timer relay that will allow the horn to sound for 3 to 5 seconds and then disconect the circuit so it won't drive me crazy. will the DEI 528T Pulse timer work?

DEI 528T appears to be 12Volt 'wait to start' or ON-delay timer.
528 receives electrical signal, and then delays the start-circuit by up to 60 seconds.
For example home alarm system. Door is opened and alarm sounds. Install DEI 528 and set for 60 seconds: Door is opened and alarm will not sound for 60 seconds.

You need 12-volt off-delay timer.
Off-delay timer receives electrical impulse, and then begins a countdown.
After countdown expires, then circuit turns off.
ELK-960 appears to have off-delay feature for 12V DC

Use wiring diagram #7 for alarm cut-off:

I have veneer 605c baler put new belts on and there tracking to one side are the other won't run

Have you baled with this baler before you put new belts on it? If not be sure all the belts are the right length, 444" , The belts should not be tight enough to turn without hay in the start up roll. When you start rolling a bale zig zag on the windrow, take care of the sides the middle will take care of itself. There was an update years ago of two 3/8 bolts and spacer for to belt tightner chains to keep the belts loose until there was enough hay across where the bale begins to tighten the belts and start rolling. You don't want the belts rolling with no hay in it. Will not roll straight.

My Massey Fergeson #12 hay baler keeps shearing fly wheel pins ocassionaly, what are some of the things that would cause this

the flywheel has an enormous amount of kinetic energy stored when it is running so any interruption to the shaft movement will shear the pins
look for something jamming the shaft( sticks in the baler operation etc ), excessive feed into the baler or the like that is acting as a sudden brake on the flywheel shaft

Horn not working. Checked fuse its okay. Do I replace relay?

Before you change relay do this, take out the horn wires and attach a 12v bulb to it and press horn button.

Condition 1: Blub glows:
-----------------------------------
1. Re-attach the horn wires and look for a adjustment screw behind the horn. Ask someone to press horn button and using a screw driver, rotate this screw clock or anti-clock wise until you hear some sound. Fine adjust the screw for best sound. Most probably you will need to put cork in your ear to save your ear drums :P

2. Put some glue on this screw.

3. If still no sound, then horn is dead and you have to buy new horn.

Condition 2: Bulb does not glow:
-----------------------------------------------

1. Check using a bulb / multimeter at the contacts of relay if you are actually getting current in relay. Hear the click sound of relay on pressing horn button. If it has no life, then change it.

New holland 271 baler broken shear pin, now out of time

You need to go to your nearest New Holland dealer and buy a Baler Knotter Service Manual.

I suggest this because it sounds to me that you have absolutely no clue what you are talking about, just by the way you've presented your question.

Additionally, there are lots of help forums on here - Google the words "how to time new holland baler" - and you will find a plethroa of generic information for different NH balers on timing procedures.

HOWEVER... If you are not familiar with this kind of service work... Please... go buy yourself a MANUAL! They are NOT that expensive, and they are worth their weight (and then some) in gold!

You can also buy manuals on-line. I bought mine from a seller on eBay.
Here's a link to a current auction, good for the next 29 days or so: http://www.heavyequipmentshop.info/view.php?item=NewHollandKnotterServiceTipsBalerManualLot&num=370404567925
You can purchase the pair of manuals for like $32.00 US dollars, including the shipping!

Don't get screwed by being a cheap skate! Hay is extremely weather dependent, and there's no time for down time!

Good luck & god bless...

Hay baler twine double knot

Your timing belt has slipped. If you have the repair manual for your baler, this is a relatively easy repair.
