I have no electricity. I just recently purchased a GE Hotpoint propane stove/oven. The model # is RBG745BEA2CT. I realize the clock and such will not work without electricity, but can I still use the stove anyway or does this model function with electricity??? How do I light the burners? There is propane to each burner, but they will not light with a clicker or match.

You must have electricity for that unit. The ignitors are electric and so are the valves.

SOURCE: I have a kenmore stove whose burners wont light.

If the gets give no gas then sounds like a Thermocouple, this is a device that allows the gas to come on after a period of time ensuring that the pilot is lit and heated up this thermocouple, once it heats it then allows gas to enter and ignite the main burner..hope this helps ,please leave feedback.

SOURCE: I have an Amana ARG7600W

Hello,

If one of your burner heating elements works only intermittently, it's probably because of worn or bad contacts in the receptacle that the element plugs into. you can remove the element by lifting it up several inches and firmly pulling it away from its attachment (receptacle). Read your owner's manual to learn the correct technique for your range. If, after removing the element, you see that the ends of the element that were plugged in are pitted, corroded, burned, scarred, or rusted, replace both the element and the receptacle.

Take care.

SOURCE: Got a problem with my

Usually the indicators are powered by sensors which are often triggered on by the heat sensor on the burner. When the burner got burnt the indicator was most likely triggered on when the burners shorted out. And therefore got damaged in the process. When the unit was repaired most times repairers do not take note of the little details such as this as they have checked the full system and know that all is well.
The indicator does not mean any of the burners are on but is on as a result of the sensor being spoilt and last signal sent by sensor is on. As an off signal has not been sent the light cannot go off unless the sensor is replaced.
hope this explanation has been helpful?

SOURCE: All the burners are turned

This is dangerous.
You should be able to stop it by unplugging the stove. The automatic spark requires electricity to work.
Unplug it and leave a comment with the make and model and I will assist you in finding a replacement.

  • Holiday appliances are made by Maytag. Here is the link to the Maytag parts list.
  • There are some burners and element for sales as you go through the parts. This is the absolute best I can provide without a model number. However, being a Maytag, it should be much much easier with the parts list from Maytag I provided. Maytag range parts are universal throughout their models.

How do I change the fuse?

On most GE/Hotpoint models, the control panel assembly will either tip down, or pivot sideways for access to the components behind it. Screws holding the top air deflector might have to be removed in order to gain access to the control panel mounting screws. I recently junked-out a similar model. The main fuse was near where the power cord enters the cabinet on top. Avoid contact with any of the high voltage components.

My GE microwave is beeping and the display says F3

F3 on a GE / Hotpoint microwave means you have a shorted membrane keypad.

We would need your model number to give you more specific info, part ordering info, and en estimate if needed.

Simply contact me here with your model number and symptoms for free help.

On some models, the membrane keypad is peeled off and a new one stuck on.

In other models, the plastic frame must be replaced, and it comes with a keypad already installed.

Clock frequently goes blank and needs to be reset

You have a faulty display module due to one or more components leaking. Some models have a seperate display module that can replaced without the complete board having to be replaced. If not, the board needs to be replaced. You need to ask your spares suppliers that have info. on that model.

Hi I have elcetric hotpoint oven. I did sef-cleaning and after that I am not able to unlocked the oven. What should I do?

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for maybe an hour.

My micowave oven purchased 12-15-07 from Lowe's. The exuast fan will not come on, I press the touch pad key and it reads low and when I touch it again it reads high but the fan does not run.

Since it's less than one year old, it should be fully covered under warranty. I'd suggest contacting the manufacturer to get it fixed free.

GE Customer Service is here.

(Just for the sake of discussion, have the stove top lights gone out recently? Quite often they will short, causing fan or light trouble.)
