I am trying to scan from my Lexmark X4650 and I get a message that says the application I need has been moved or deleted. What do I do?

Hi

You need to reinstall the software on the CD that came with the printer or download and install it from here:

http://support.lexmark.com/index?productCode=LEXMARK_X4650&page=driversdownloads&linkSelected=node2%5Esubnode2&locale=EN&userlocale=EN_UK

Then save the downloaded setup files on an external hard drive ofr USB Flash drive for future reference.

Lexmark X4650 prints fine & used to scan to computer, now when press scan>scan to computer>downloading application list & seems to freeze.

A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer. Reboot your pc. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer. Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection.


If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

1. Disconnect the printer from your computer.

2. Rebrick (pull out power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds).

2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.

3. Delete the Lexmark print object.

4. Reboot your pc.

5. When your pc turns on, reconnect the printer.

6. Wait until your pc fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list again, then try to print again.

Make sure the Lexmark X4650 printer driver is updated. You can update your printer driver by downloading and installing the downloadable driver from the Lexmark website at http://bit.ly/iofMNC. Select your operating system, download and execute the file. Try to scan again and see the difference.
You can also try to lower the scan resolution (dpi setting) on your computer by launching the Lexmark Productivity Studio application. Select Scan > on the "What are you scanning?" screen, click Custom Settings > decrease the dpi setting to 200 or 150. Try to scan again.
You may also use third party scan softwares to decrease the scan file size if results are still too large for you.

After scan, whatever save function is used the error message "printing application has stopped working" appears with the only option Close Application.

I can't scan a document and convert to a PDF file. Do I need to install OCR software and if so how do I do it?

To scan documents for editing and converting it to a PDF file, you will need to install the Lexmark OCR scan software. It is available in the installation disk that came with your Lexmark printer (not available for online download). Just insert the disk into your computer and execute the install application. I cannot delete a document from my print queue on my lexmark x4650. I get the deleting message but the document does not delete and now I cannot print any other document. How do I fix this?

Hi,

Have you tried restarting your PC? Once you do this, unplug your printer power cord for a few minutes, uninstall your printer from your computer and reinstall the software. Then plug your power cord back into your printer and try printing your document once more.

Can't get my 4650 to scan

Hi,
Try the following link http://bit.ly/aLz1xL. You will find specific instructions on how to reset your device and fix the retrieve app list error. Another option is to completely remove the printer and the Lexmark software and then restart the PC, download the driver from the Lexmark.com website and install it, that has helped me before resolve this problem.
