Safe International Digital Electronic Safe Lockbox Gun Jewelry Lock Box Tool Logo

I have a Mossberg Instant Access pistol safe, Model 77701. The batteries died and the external battery was replaced. Now it won't open with my personal code. I am trying to get back in using the factory reset of *0000# or *1234# and these will not work either. Do I need to let it time out for a certain amount of time? Any other suggestions? Thanks - Keith

I have tried *0000#, *0000, 0000, and 0000# with no result. I need someone who knows something about these particular safes. The owner's manual lists *0000# and *1234# as the factory codes.

From what I can find, Mossberg went out of the safe business three years ago. The only code that I could find is "0000" without the # sign. If that doesn't work, I can't help you.

I do not have that safe. I found a blog of several people discussing that safe. They said:

You can get a locksmith to open it for about $100.

Mossberg does not support it anymore.

    0000 is the factory code.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

I know this thread is ancient but there are stillthese in service. This is for tbose users. Assuming you don't have the safe attached to the mounting plate, turn the safe over. Remove the 8 torx screws holding the bottom of the safe together. Carefully pull the bottom off. Be careful not to pull the batteries connectors off the board. Underneath the top lid is a plexiglass cover over the number pad. Remove the 4 Phillips screws to expose the board. There is a button in the board. Press the * key and the button on the board. The unit will beep. The code has now been reset to 0000 which is the original factory code. Open the safe *0000#. Use the manual you can find online to reprogram to your desired code. Test it several times before reassembling. Just had to do this ... somehow after decades of service I finally accidentally reprogrammed it to an unknown number. Ready for more decades of bedside use.
