Hotpoint Aqaurius WML520. No functions at all, motor does not spin, pump does not empty water out, none of the programs work.

If the inlet cycle proceeds and then activated the wash after the water level is detected then the program cycle is intact. However if the second spin does not start, you need to check if there is voltage to the motor at this time , if not the control panel memory to the processor can be corrupt or the IC damaged.

It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors or feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET/PUMP MOTOR/DRAIN to work when it is commanded .If this does not happen then the voltage at these points must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage/drive from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect.

If the water flows then the flow should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or there is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. What is most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch must be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the motor. The water pressure must be good and the spraying must be seen to be good. If there is low pumping or pressure then the spray arms will not turn around to inject with pressure. If so the pump must be checked for clogging.

Is the tub still full of water? If yes then try lowering the outlet hose into a bowl or bucket and see if any water comes out, if yes the system is clear and it would be pump related, if no then you have a blockage somewhere.

No test available other than:
Remove pump - check motor will turn by rotating impellor. There is a slight resistance then moves freely, then slight resistance and freely again. This is correct for this machine. worth checking there is no hair, elastic band or other obstruction around the impellor fins and shaft whilst the pump is out.
There is no spin cycle so you have to use rinse & spin, which means if the pump is shot you need to empty the machine each time :(
Worth checking lower filter as stated and blowing down the drain hose whilst the pump is off to check for obstructions.
The resolution to my problem was a new pump - £20.
All working fine again now !

Remove the motor, and check the brushes in the motor, if o/k, then could be a board prob, or something as simple as a broken or bad connection.

hi..Most washing machine have a drain filter that can become
clogged over time.Front load washers typically have a small
removable panel about the size of a half sheet of paper on the
bottom front of the machine.the filter is inside.

sounds like maybe a blocked pump.Probably got a coin or sock or some lint in the pump.Has your machine got a filter ? What happens when you position the program switch on a spin section and turn it on ? does it pump out the water ?

try replacing the interlock first then check the the continuity in the interlock lead
