If your laptop appears to boot up and the hard disk LEDflashes, then the problem is probably a back light fault. This can be a faultyinverter or a faulty CCFL lamp. Please click on this link and follow myinstructions to identify the fault and possible fix :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3598095-faulty_laptop_lcd_screen

Black or blue screen on power up. does not boot

If you have a multimeter, it'll be easy.
Plug the Acer Aspire 7741z charger in, test the connector of the adapter with a multimeter, remember, you only need to measure the DC voltage of the adapter.
If the readings are close to the specification on it's label, then the charger is OK.
If you do not have a multimeter,
Turn the computer completely off and remove the battery,
then check out whether you can
power up the Notebook with AC power only (no battery installed).
If you can power up your laptop, then the battery is dead.
If you still cannot power up your laptop, the adapter defective and you need replace it.

Acer 7741z bios

Have you tried a cold start, unplug, remove battery, hold down on/off button for 10 seconds, replace battery, plug in start normally. If that fails re start while tapping F-8 repeatedly until it boots into Boot options. Repeat if necessary. that's a good place to start

Caps lock, numlock no visual display if on

The laptop keyboard sounds like the problem, but I would suggest hooking a external keyboard to prove the point. If the external keyboard resolve the issue then replacing tha laptop keyboard would be the next step, go to www.ebay.com Type make and model of laptop, refine search to keyboard for a list of prices.

Where can I find keys for my book i am missing a couple on my key board

good luck finding individual "keys" for it. You need a new keyboard. This is pretty simple to do for a DIY project. I found your keyboard online for 34.95. replacing it takes a screwdriver and a little patience to make sure everything is done right. go to www.impactcomputers.com and punch in "aspire one" in the search box to get to a screen that lists parts for your computer. I don't know if you have the white keyboard or black, as they are different prices. I have ordered many parts from this company before and they are reliable. hope this helps you

Unlock keyboard for a Acer AS7540-1284

The Keyboard is locked? Or do you mean maybe the mouse pointer is locked? Look on your keyboard and see if you see anything that resembles a mouse touch pad. Some systems will lock the touch pad, but it can be unlocked by hitting a combination of keys, such as holding the FN key + the key with the touchpad icon.

DELL INSPIRON 1525 HELP

It should be a simple fix. Start your laptop and pay attention to the screen. Press the F12 key (or F11) to enter "SETUP" then find the NUMLOC command and make sure that its DISABLED or OFF. This will turn this option off andyou will only be able to use the number's keys on the top of the keyboard. Be careful when entering SETUP. You don't want to change anything you don't have to.

Screen all black.

Aside from the screen being all black, I am assuming that the notebook seems to be operating normally. So I suspect the screen's back light may have been turned off by Power Management. Usually pressing any key should turn the back light on but if this doesn't happen, try pressing the Fn key at the lower right of the keyboard and while holding it down press the F6 key at the top center of the keyboard. If this works, you should check the notebook's Power Management profile to see if it is the way you would want it to be. For example, normally if the notebook is on AC power, the screen should never turn off.
