NAT type is set to strict, I would like it set to open. Modem is a NETGEAR DM111P

What you have to do is go to your router settings!! You need to find DMZ settings !! DMZ Server allows you to set up a computer or server that is available to anyone on the Internet for services that you haven't defined. There are security issues with doing this, so only do this if you're willing to risk open access. If you do not assign a Default DMZ Server, the Router discards any incoming service requests which are undefined. This can be a security problem. You shouldn't check this box unless you have a specific reason to do so. Thats enough **** of that !! Then you need your xbox IP address and add that to the DMZ setting this will set your NAT to open!! Just be careful if not using a static IP address with your xbox that if router is turned off the xbox will asign a new one and you will have to re-enter the DMZ. Hope this helps

MY xbox 360 is telling me that the NAT configeration is moderate and not allowing me to play on with other players?

You either can try doing a factory reset on your modem/router or go into the configurations of your modem/router and set your machine as a DMZ Host and that will take care of your problem. NOTE: Setting you machine as a DMZ Host will put you machine outside the firewall, but what the heck I do it with mine because I have Qwest and some areas in Oregon you just have to.
If you need help with DMZ Hosting let me know. [email protected]

Would like to host a game thru my motorola modem/router

You need to look for something on your router called Static NAT and configure it to point to your internal IP address.  You also need to find out what ports your NASCAR game advertises itself on...it's usually high ports (20000-30000).  ONce you find out the port(s), you can create a custom service on your router for those ports, and when you configure Static NAT, it should ask what 'service' you want to advertise.  This basically tells the router to forward all inbound traffic, looking for those particular ports, directly to your IP address, which will allow users on the Internet to see your game server.
Cheers!

Warcraft III: Frozen Throne - Can't host even though followed directions on portforward an etc., any solutions?

try with firewall disabled on computer? Some routers also include firewalls and require ports to be added to exception in firewall on router as well.

If that does not work set up computer as DMZ host in router configuration and see if that works.

Pix 515 E allow few websites only.

Do the nslookup for the three websites and write an access list to permit the traffic only to the said website ip addresses

Eg.

1. go to dos prompt

2. type "nslookup"

3. type "www.rediff.com

Note : You will get the ip address of the websites

4. Create an object group for these websites

5. Add ip addresses of the websites

6. create an access-control list element to permit the traffic from your circle office to this object group for port tcp 80 and 443

You are done

Need To Configurate To Host A Bnt game

You need to log on to your router. Go to Start>Run>type http://192.168.1.1. then a login window appears. Leave username blank and admin for password. There you will find the port-forwarding, DMZ stuff that gamers use. Here is the link for Linksys info for your router http://www.linksysbycisco.com/US/en/support/WRT160N Steve Medley

Connecting to Xbox Live through my Dynex-E401 Router

You would think that Xbox 360 would be perfectly compatible with UPnP. They should be communicating with each other just fine, (UPnP talks to NATPMP to automatically open and forward appropriate ports), and the game's datastream is probably entirely connectionless aside from the initial handshake (UDP).

To log into your router console, type "http://192.168.0.1" into your browser, for the username enter "admin" and do not put in a password. To enabled Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), click ADVANCED and on the left side click DMZ.

You will need to know the internal IP address to the XBOX360, which can be found on the "CABLE TEST" or "LAN" page in the router console.

If you find that you cannot log into the router console with the supplied information, you need to press the little reset button with a pen for like 10 seconds.

If you cannot reach the router console at 192.168.0.1 then you need to go to Network Connections in windows and find out the "Default Gateway IP" which is the router's internal IP.

The XBOX360's internal IP address will be in the same format as your computer's (if you only have one computer, the XBOX360's IP will probably be 192.168.0.101 and your computer's should be 192.168.0.100). All of these are default values. You can change them in the router console as you please.

Gaming

You need to set the correct address for DMZ (your PC IP address). You may also find that your PC firewall settings will need changing.

You shouldn't need to set DMZ for this, you can set port-forwarding instead, and then select the ports you wish to pass through for each IP address connected to your home side of the router.
