Canon Powershot A560. Just recently everytime I turn on my camera I have to re-set the time and date. (which will only last while camera is on - otherwise defaults to all 0's). This becomes an issue when downloaded and organizing my photos as the download defaults to 1/1/1980 since it can't recognize and dates. How to I fix this so the date stays accurate and I do not have to enter every single time I turn camera on? Thanks

Open your battery door. See this picture. Notice the little door saying CR1220? Pry it open with your fingernail. The enclosed CR1220 battery is the camera's "watch" battery for time and date. Sounds like it may be "time" for a replacement. Take the battery to your local drugstore to purchase a replacement. Don't know why, but drugstores seem to have this battery at a more reasonable price (~$3) than W-Mart or other retail store (~$7).

How do I get date and time stamp to display on picture with the A560 Cannon Camera

This function can only be set in Postcard mode- Press Func., scroll down to the bottom, then across to the mountains with clock icon, then set. Now press menu, scroll down to date, and set date or date and time, then menu again.

I have a Canon Powershot A560. The date and time stamp do not work. I checked the manual and it says to replace the battery located under the flip-up panel on the left side of the camera. I can not...

Think your problem is that you are looking in the wrong spot. Don't know why your manual is telling you to look there (are you sure your manual is for the A560)?
Your CR1220 date/time battery is located in the regular battery compartment. Look right beside your AA batteries. You'll see a little flap labeled "CR1220". Slide this open with your fingernail, and take the little coin battery down to your local drugstore to buy a replacement.

A560 cannon camera, I want the date to appear while printing.

The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.

The following blog outlines some repair options for a lens error. They won't work for all cases, but they're worth a try if the camera's no longer under warranty:
