I have an ultra line gas oven and when I turn it on it smells badly of gas in the house also the oven has a sound every once in a while like it gets a gust of air. Also it seems like it cooks more on the left side than the right.

HI,
SAFETY FIRST, Have the unit checked for issues, it not worth the home over a leak. Unless you know about this unit, have your gas company inspect for leaks and supply issues. If you leak is a connection issue, they will advise how to repair, if internal, it should be check right away or prior to using again.
I had seen a simple loose connection cause a lot of damage.
Please be safety, I would be glad to assist you further if needed.

My Kenmore propane fueled gas oven gives off a powerful strong smell every time it is started. The burners on top do not. Is there any way I can correct this?

this is because the gas is on full before the oven lights
IT is an explosive situation and should be quickly corrected by an accredited gas fitter
the soot indicates an incorrect burn ratio and that will be the major part of the problem

Main oven does not heat at all

Sounds like the heating/starter element went out. This item is very delicate and will break if touched. They are used on almost all newer gas appliances. It takes about 3 minutes to check. Turn the oven on and look down near the burners with all of the lights in the room out. You should see a glow for a while, then it will click off for a while and then come back on. If not, then turn off the oven and get a flashlight and look for the starter element to see if it is broken. It is about one inch wide, two inches long, and 1/4 inch thick. If you do get a glow then this is good news, the element is not broken. However, the element operates a thermostatic switch which operates the gas valve. This switch may be broken. The switch and the starter element usually come out together when removed.

I have the drop in Jade 5 burner cooktop. for the first time, I noticed a significant gas smell when I light any of the burners. we cant figure out the problem since the cootkop is functioning fine, but...

All gas burners will put off a gas Oder when lit, if you go away for a while and come back home and smell gas, you should turn off the gas and call the gas company

Ran out of propane, Stovetop has ignitors and they seem to be functioning fine. When turning on knobs there is plenty of propane smell but the burners fail to light.

This is normal when you run out of propane. Depending on the length of line you have, there will be a delay in relighting it again because of insert air in the line. My advice to you is to first air out the house til the smell is gone. Then turn on only 1 burner with the igniter sparking and also hold a handheld bbq lighter at the burner to ensure that the gas burner lights when the air is finally purged. This should only take 20-30secs. If it takes longer, air out the room and try again. Use common sense and please be careful!

5 burner tappan stove. oven takes a long time to reach 350 and doesnt stay hot also a hissing sound when you first put on, called the gas co. and it wasnt gas leaking. a loud popping sound also

By this description you gave it sounds as your oven burner has a flash back ,when it is like that does your flame look very yellow and gives off a Funny Smell ( which i Will think it is CARBON MONOXIDE . Remove the Oven burner make sure you watch for any wires attached to the burner (yes even in a Gas Stove) that would be part of your safety device . Make sure there is NO Rubbish in your Burner and your Burner
Well . Clean it out Make sure your Injector is Clear Carefully replace your Burner Making sure it fits over the Injector ,Replace any wirer if you removed any and relight

Thermador Gas Range - Griddle ignition will not spark

I have a Thermador Gas Range PG364GDBS - Oven, 4 burners, and center griddle. All are gas. The four burners and gas oven work fine. The griddle just stopped working, no spark. Turning on the griddle control, the gas valve opens(hear it), gas flows (smell it), but the ignitor will not spark (no loud or faint spark that I can hear). I got a replacement ignition device (mount at the burner) thinking it might be the problem, but still no spark. I checked the AC voltage at the terminal and measured 39 VAC between the terminal and ground. Not sure if that is the correct voltage. Any insights or advice would be great.

Viking pro gas range propane conversion

Sounds like your range is set up for the wrong kind of gas, or, in the case of LP, your installer failed to make the necessary adjustments once it was hooked up. First step is to insure that you have the proper range for type of gas you are using. If not, the orifices for all surface and oven burners will have to be changed out. That should be done by a qualified service technician.
