I went online and looked at the ilive 2.1 manual to see the Connections on the back and I see RCA input and output. I would 1st make sure that the Audio cable is working okay on something else then hook up the TV Audio out to the ilive Audio input. Make sure in your TV settings that the volume is going through okay, if so and there's still a problem, then it would be in the ilive sound bar. Hope that helps

Hi Scott, my name is Cheri Torres and I work with the DISH Network Internet Response Team. I came across your post and wanted to help! I will list here for you the best code for your iLive sound bar and also the instructions for addressing the remote to your sound bar. I hope you find this information useful and if you have further questions please let me know!
The best code 2835
The instructions for addressing the remote. 1. Press and hold down the AUX button until all the other mode buttons light up. 2. Enter the code 2835. 3. Press the pound(#) button once. 4. Test the functionality of your iLive sound bar.
I hope this helps. You have to connect your sound bar to your cable box/satellite tv receiver. If you are connecting with composite or component cables you connect the video cables (either the yellow or the green blue and red cables) between the television and the cable box /satellite tv receiver. Then you connect the red and white audio portion of the cable between the cable box/satellite tv receiver and the sound bar. You are going from the OUTPUT of the cable box/satellite tv receiver to the INPUT on the television and sound bar. You use the function/source/input button on the sound bar to choose the space you plugged the cables into on it or listen to the radio or listen to your IPOD and etc.
I have an iLive bar speaker ipod dock and it has worked great until
today. The sound isn't working. You can hear that it is on, but it isn't
playing music. The display works and everything. Is this fixable?
Try swapping your cables from the sound-bar to the TV. If the sound still only plays through one channel but the channel has changed from right to left or vice-versa, then you have a bad cable.
If the performance is the same, connect a different device using the same cables to see if it's the sound bar input or the TV output.
Once you know where the problem is (the sound bar, the TV, or the cables) you'll know what unit needs repair or replacement.
It is entirely possible that a solder joint for the sound-bar has come loose. A soldering pen would easilly fix this if it's a bad joint/connection.
