In the 4 cylinder the firing order is 1,3,4,2 and the cylinders are numbered 1,2,3,4 from the Passenger side to the drivers side.
In a V6 the firing order is 1,6,5,4,3,2 and the cylinders are numbered 1,3,5 in the front from the passenger side to the drivers side and 2,4,6 in the back from the passengers side to the drivers side.
THE 2.3L FIRING ORDER 1 3 4 2 STANDING IN FRONT OF CAR FROM PASSENGER SIDE CYLINDERS FROM LEFT TO RIGHT. ARE 1 2 3 4 NOW IF YOU HAVE 3.1L ENGINE FIRING ORDER IS 1 2 3 4 5 6 IF YOU HAVE THE 3.3L ENGINE FIRING ORDER IS 1 6 5 4 3 2 STANDING FRONT OF CAR PASSENGER SIDE FROM LEFT TO RIGHT. FRONT CYLINDER IS 1 3 5 BACK CYLINDERS 2 4 6
I am guessing that you have a V6 in your skylark.
1. Facing the engine from front of vehicle. cylinders are 1,3,and 5 from left to right. 2,4, and 6 are on the back of the engine from left to right.
2. You should have 3 coils on your front left side of the engine. Start with the coil at the front of the car. The plug wires will be 1,4,5,2,3, with 6 being the wire on the last coil connection the side toward the firewall.
I have a picture that I can send if you need it. Shoot me an email address and I will send you a copy. Best of Luck.
