SOURCE: remote control

Does your remote have a button called TV. Press this first and then hit the power button and the TV should turn on. Remotes these days control multiple devices like DVD players and VCRs and you need to ensure that you have selected the right mode. Hope this solves your problem.

Zenith remote codes

If it is the original remote control that comes with Plasma TV, there is no need for any set-up codes. It will be pre-programmed to work with the TV. If it doesn't, might have some other fault, either to TV or Remote control.

Remote & Buttons on TV not working

There are three chances for this fault. [1]. There is no infrared emission from the remote control. [2] Infrared sensor inside the TV is faulty. [3]. Front panel controls have been locked, using remote control, prior to this fault, and the set was switched OFF by remote control. Check the remote control, for its infrared emission. Try it with fresh batteries. You can see all these faults and related help how to follow. Try this link, and select the site named Electro-help. Pull up older posts there.

Remote to tv doesn't work

Hello
Check the remote first for its infrared emission. If it is OK, the infrared sensor inside your tV is faulty. It should be replaced with same type and number. It can be located just behind the infrared window at the front panel of your Tv. You ahve to open your TV ot access it. It will have three solder terminals, and will look somehat brownish black in colour. Will look like this.

I have a 32" insignia LCD TV. My remote stop

You can reset your remote control by removing the batteries, pressing all of its buttons, and installing new batteries. Also, ensure that your TV's sensor is clean and unobstructed. If the problem persists, try using a universal remote control as a troubleshooting step. This will help identify whether the original remote or the TV is at fault.

Remote doesn't control on/off,volume or channels

Remote won't workThe most common reasons the remote won't work is that the batteries are dead or it hasn't been programmed properly. It's often easy to fix. Here are the steps to take to troubleshoot the problem.
Make sure you have a clear path between the remote and the infrared eye on your equipment. Clear any dust or debris that may be covering the eye.

Try unlocking the battery-saving mode. When a button is pressed for longer than three minutes, the remote goes into battery-saving mode. Press the SAT mode button at the top to unlock it. Your remote should work properly.

Check the batteries. When you press a mode button, does it light up? If not, you may be out of juice. Check to make sure they are in the right way, with the metal ends making good connections with the metal in the remote. If they're in correctly and you still don't get power, try replacing them. They may be dead.Learn about batteries

Check to make sure the remote is programmed properly, which basically means you reprogram it to work with your receiver, TV and any other components. Start with the receiver and work your way through programming each component that isn't working. We tell you how to program remotes in our guide to remotes.Learn about remotes

Still no go? You may have an internal problem with the remote. You'll have to talk to a Shaw Direct customer service representative. Call 1.888.554.7827.Be prepared to tell us:What components you have. All of the steps you've been through to try and solve the problem yourself. Can't change channels on receiverThis is almost always caused by a programming problem with the remote. Here are the steps to take to troubleshoot the problem.
Make sure you are in SAT mode. The receiver will only change channels when the remote is in the correct mode.Look for a timer. If you have a timer set, the receiver won't let you change channels. This ensures you don't miss recording a program with an external device. If a timer is set and you want to watch another channel, simply turn off the receiver and turn it back on.Learn about timers

Make sure the problem is with the remote and not the receiver. Try the buttons on the front of the receiver. Try to change channels. If your model doesn't have channel buttons, try to turn the machine off. If you can't change channels or power off, the problem is with the receiver. Try unplugging it for two minutes and plugging it in again.

If you can change the channels or power off, the problem is with the remote. Press any mode button on the remote. It should light up. If not, you probably have low batteries. They should be replaced.

Try unlocking the battery-saving mode. When a button is pressed for longer than three minutes, the remote goes into battery-saving mode. Click on any of the mode buttons at the top to unlock it. Your remote should work properly.

Check to see if your Shaw Direct Receiver is using the same remote control address as your remote control. If you are using the DSR 319, HDDSR 505, or HDPVR 530 receiver press the Options button on the front panel of your Shaw Direct receiver. An options menu should appear on your screen. Using the direction keys on the front of your receiver navigate to 6 - System Setup and then press the Enter button on the front panel of the receiver. Using the same directional and Enter buttons go to 4 - System Setup. Then 3 - Installation Settings. Followed by 2 - Remote control Address. If you are using a legacy receiver such as the DSR 315, DSR 405, or any other receiver with front panel buttons, press the Options button on the front panel of your Shaw Direct receiver. An options menu should appear on your screen. Using the direction keys on the front of your receiver navigate OPTIONS and then press the Enter button on the front panel of the receiver. Using the same directional and Enter buttons go to 6 - Change System Settings. Then 3 - Change Installation Settings. Followed by 2 - Set Remote Control Address.Follow the on-screen instruction to reset the remote control address on your receiver and remote control.Check the back of your remote, if you own the IRC/URC 550 or RT-U50 remote controls you will need to enter the remote control address differently from what is displayed on screen. To program these remotes, hold the ENTER and MUTE button on your remote at the same time until the mode buttons at the top start to illuminate then enter the last three digits of the number displayed in "Current Address" column on the screen, then press the MUTE button to lock in the code. For example: If the remote address on the screen displays 0002, you would hold ENTER + MUTE until the mode button illuminated and then enter 0 0 2, followed by ENTER on your remote control. If you own the IRC 551 or URC 551 remote control you can follow the instruction depicted on the screen, but you must substitute the follows numbers in place those specified: 00869 for 0000, 01870 for 0001, 01871 for 0002, 01872 for 0003, 01873 for 0004, 01874 for 0005, 01875 for 0006, 01876 for 0008. I cant figure out how to put the tv on video 1

With the remote in TV mode, the input button on the remote should change the source (TV, AV1, etc. depending on the TV).

If the input button doesn't work, try a different code for your TV manufacturer. A code that controls the basic functions of the remote may not control the full set of functions of the TV. For some TVs, you can change the source from within the Menu. (It depends on the TV. I didn't notice if there was a Menu button that will open the TV menu on the RCA RCU600M.)

If none of the codes work, check if your TV has a Source or Input button on the unit. See if that button works.

If you have a different remote, please indicate the model.

I hope this helps.

My remote won't set to the tv I tried pressing the set button and it didn't work then I replaced the batteries to see if that would work but it didn't and now I don't know what to do please...

Hello
You might have a cellphone with camera option. Set the cellphone co cemera mode, and place the remote control at about 1 feet away from its camera lens, and press each button on your remote control. Remote control emits infrared rys as we press each button, but can't be detected by human eye. Electronic cameras can detect it. If there is any infrared ray emission from your remote control you will see its image on the camera screen for each button press to your remote control. If there is image and still the Tv doesn't respond to it, The TVs' infrared snsor inside has damaged and should be replaced. If there isn't any image; check the battery contacts of the remote battery compartment first. Clean these contacts by using a piece of corborandum paper or with the tip of a razor blade. Improper battery contacts, due to rust and dust to these contacts will prevent the battery supply voltage to enter into the remote contro.
Still it doesn't work at all, the remote control is damged and should be replaced. Contact the nearest Vizio Authorised Service Cente fro original remote control. OK.
