Can't make a histogram

I've done exactly what the tutorials say. I enter my data into the stat/list editor. I press F2 to go to plots. I click Plot Setup. I press define for plot 1. I change the plot type to histogram and define "x" as list1. then i press enter and go to the graph. But from there on it just says plot setup error. No matter what I do I get that error. I don't get the error if I make a box plot for the data set though. Please help?

Invalid dim message? Trying to plot a histogram. All plots except Plot 1 are turned off. Cannot seem to figure out what is wrong.

You're probably trying to graph a function that does not involve stat plot features. You can correct this by turning off the stat plot features. Press "2ND" "STAT PLOT" and then select 4:PlotsOff.

Keep getting invalid dim

Hi scarfacecoke,

One of the statistical plot's may be on while your trying to do other functions. You can go to the y= editor / STAT editor and, turn them all OFF.

1). Press [CLEAR] at the Home screen

2). Press [2nd][Y=] Open's the (STAT PLOT) editor screen.

3). Press [4:PlotsOFF]

4). The PlotsOff Command should now display at the Home screen.

5). Press [ENTER] , Now the plots should be off are off

If you still have this error even after you turned off the plot you may have a list that is a invalid dimension. List dimensions can only be between 1 and 999. A matrix can only be between 1 and 99. Or your trying to invert a matrix that isn't square.

If you can't find the list that is causing you problem you can clear all the lists. To clear all the lists press [2nd] [MEM][4][ENTER] This should set all lists dimensions to 0.

In my Y= menu, any equation that I enter isn't graphed on my graph. At the top, by Plot 1 Plot 2 Plot 3, it says "X=" before them. Also when i do enter an equation, it says Error: invalid dimensions.

You must deactivate the Statistical plots.
Press [STAT].
In list that is displayed delect [4:PlotsOff] and press [ENTER]
Go to [Y=] editor to enter functions or press [GRAPH] if functions already entered.

Hi, I can edit my table information in my calculator but am not able to graph from it and when i go to table it shows nothing.. what do i do?

Hi,
From what I understand you want to draw statistical graphs (scatter plot, box plot, etc.) If you do not see anything it may be due to the fact that the statistical plots are turned off.

Type in the data in lists L1 and L2, etc. Press [2nd][QUIT]

Press [2nd][Y=] (STAT PLOT] . Select [4:PlotsOff] [ENTER] .
Screen displays Done

Press [2nd][Y=] (STAT PLOT] . Select [1:Plot1 Off].
  1. The configuration screen for Plot1 opens with the cursor blinking ON.
  2. Press [ENTER] to turn Plot1 ON.
  3. Use Down Arrow to move cursor to second line Type:
  4. Select the type of statistical plot. Use the right arrow to move highlight on one of the 6 types.
  5. Select the type:scatter, Xline, histogram, box plot, and press [ENTER] to validate the choisce.
  6. Use down arrow to select the Xlist: use [2nd][1] to choose L1, etc. and press [ENTER]
  7. Select the Y-List (L2) and validate by pressing [ENTER]
  8. Select the data-point mark.
  9. Press [GRAPH].
If you do not see the graph or if it is not well centred, press [ZOOM][9:ZoomStat] to restrict the screen to the data entered.

Hope it helps.

I am trying to graph and i am getting error 13 dimension how can i fix it?

You're probably trying to graph a function that does not involve stat plot features. You can correct this by turning off the stat plot features.

Press GRAPH F1 to enter the equation editor.

Plot1 Plot2 Plot3 on the top line of the equation editor displays the on/off status of each stat plot. When a plot name is highlighted, the plot is on. To toggle the status, press up, left, and right to place the cursor on the name, then press ENTER.

List dimensions

This is a pretty vague problem but not much of a problem. Your actualy plotting device of your stat plot is under your "y=". But before you do that you need to hit the stat button right next to the blue apps button. Then hit edit. These are your stat data1.gif. If you are trying to add data in you should notice what list they are under. (top of the screen L1, L2, ect.) You should also make sure that the number of data adds up for your two list. Now that you have done that you can go to "2nd" then hit "y=". If you don't want to graph your stat plots just make sure they all sat plot... off by hitting enter on the one that says that it is on. Now if you want one on hit enter and make sure your lists from your data match up with your stat plot. You can hit enter and see what one you need. they are above the 1, 2, 3, etc key. Hope this works. If all else fails you can clear your calculator by pressing "2nd", "+", "7", "1", "2". This will turn off all your stat plots if you have trouble understandsing this. But most importnat make sure your L1 and L2 match up on your stat plot with your list under your stat edit. If you don't understand this just i can help you out some more
