Put one cup of bleach in the detergent bin, one cup of bleach in the drain where the grey rubber ring is, and 1/4 cup of SunLight DISHwasher soap directly in the tub (where the clothes go). Run a cycle with hot water. You may have to do this a couple times.Then stop using any LIQUID detergent, only use powders. Good luck.

If door seal has black spots on it, like mould marks,,, change seal and clean out using bicarbonate of soda on a 90 degree wash,,,,, no powder or clothes obviously
This is several issues rolled into one. The clank noise is concerning and the smell could be the heating element for high wash temps. The other thing is the control module could be causing a lot of this. The water valves could be causing the fill issue and the clank could be the pulley on the drum. The bad thing is there are not a lot of parts for that machine as it was 13 years old. The control board is almost 300 dollars. Taking the time to trouble shoot it requires tools and patience . Are you using HE detergent? Are you using the correct amount specified? You have a year warranty friend. Call Bosch directly. They do care about their customers. Do not go through Lxxxs or who you purchased the unit from. Other than some minor issues, Bosch wants to take care of their customers. One other thing. My biggest issue with installers is, they don't know how to install. They have their CDLS, and that is all. No training. Did they remove shipping bolts? Tub rubbing on front door seal could be burnt rubber smell. Bosch people on the whole, are good people. Good luck. Numbers are in your Manual. Check installation manual also. Good luck.
your smell is comming from over soaping
a front load machine only needs 1 Tblsp of soap
any thing it builds up and rots thus the smell
get a crystal dish soap
1 cup run the machine empty a full cycle
now use trhe proper soap it will clean away
USING NON BIOLOGICAL DETERGENTS AND LOW TEMP WASHES WILL EVENTUALLY LEAVE GUNK IN DRUM AND AROUND DOOR SEAL TRY USING BIO DETERGENT HOTTER COTTON WASHES AND THE OCCASIONAL 90 DEGREE WASH
I'm a bit confused you posted under Bosch but you specify Indesit, which is a UK machine. The really bad news is you need to replace the timer. the really really bad news is you can only buy the timers from Indesit, I can't find them anywhere in the US. The really really really bad news is they want 117.99 british pounds for them! plus shipping and handling. Here is a link to the Indesit site where you can purchase one.
Make a boil wash (with no clothes and detergents) put in the powder's drawer a cup of bicarbonate of soda.
It should clean the machine and remove out the bad smell.
