You had to have a knife caseback opener or any flat tools. look for the small opening on the back located on the upper right side of the caseback, insert the flat tool inside of it and just flip it up. then it pops out. note: after you had change the battery, you had to use pressing tools to cover it again because it cannot press by hands to seal it. it uses CR2016 size of battery. i hope i had been helped you.

How to place the back on

It is highly recommended that you take it to a jeweller's to replace the battery. If the battery is replaced you need to reset the watch by push/short internal reset switch after replacing battery.

My time e-tide compass sohws large deviations (>90 degrees) after calibration. I've tried calibration several times, each resulting in slightly different north. The degree of variation per heading...

Low battery can cause this type of fault! Make sure after changing the battery to do the all reset inside of the watch. If this does not work get in contact with Timex for how to have their watch sent for service.

No instruction manual

For Compass Adjustment search on Google or FixYa

For Temperature calibration:
1. Pull the crown to most extended position (2 notches)
2. Temp hand moves to a default position
3. Move hand in + or - direction by pressing temp or tide buttons (above and below crown button)
4. When done, push crown to 0 position
(I used melting ice water to calibrate and fix to 0 deg C)

For Tide calibration:
1. Pull crown to middle position (1 notch)
2. Move hand in + or - direction by pressing temp or tide buttons (above and below crown button)
3. When done, push crown to 0 position

Hope this helps
