My Samsung HDTV takes almost a half hour to turn on. I push the on/off button and nothing seems to happen. I do have the TV connected to cable but even when I use the Samsung remote or the button on the side of the TV, it takes too long to turn on. My model is LN40A550P3FXZA, serial ALXR3CSQ502041W. I would appreciate some assistance. Thanks

Samsung HDTV black screen no picture no sound

Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.

These blinks (flashes) are fault indication. By the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside the TV. Count the blinks occur at one time switch ON, carefully. Do it once again, and make sure about the number of blinks. If the flashes are continious, non-stop, the main system control IC should be suspected. If you wish to get more details, check the site linked here. It has blinking codes detail to many brand TVs. SSP-R4232 Plasma TV, blue light on, but tv wont turn on.

At this point it appears that your main board is probably bad. You most likely have a 5 volt scource going to the main board but its not powering up the set. The main board is part number BN94-00796A.
You might want to have a technician look at the TV to verify this as the issue before purchasing it. Please take a few moments to rate my answer. Thank you.

I want to figure out how to get the picture in picture and the half and half screen on my tv. It's been done before. It's a Samsung PLasma. What do I push on my remote?

If there is no PIP button on the remote then the PIP functions was that f a cable box. If you are connected to a cable box you are only supplying one channel at a time and you will see only one image.

Green and purple ghosts

Try to reset first if nothing happens we proceed another solution;

Resetting the TV

Some TVs have a reset button. If available and accessible, try using the reset buttons before using the steps below. Using the reset buttons can saved time.
1. Unplug the TV power cord from the power outlet for 3 - 4 hours.
2. Unplug any connected devices (DVD, Set-top boxes, etc...)
3. Press and hold the TV power button for five seconds.
4. Plug the TV power cord back into the power outlet and turn on the TV.
5. Open the on-screen menu to confirm that the TV is responding again.
6. Turn off the TV and reconnect the devices.
7. Turn on the TV.

hope this may help;
