Error 2111 on camera VPC-S750 when i try to zoom in it says lens error 2111 and shuts off. the lens does not close when i turn my camera off.

  • Anonymous Jan 20, 2009

I have the same problem with my Sanyo VPC-S650. I bought it at Walmart and now, 9 months later, I discover that Sanyo only waranties their Walmart sold digital cameras for 90 days. The Walmart camera girl told me that ALL of the other digital cameras that they sell are warantied for 1 year. Too bad you can't find out what the warantees are BEFORE you buy. Very disappointed. BTW, I did not drop or otherwise misuse the camera. apparently this is a common problem with Sanyo.

This is probably THE most common failure among digital cameras. There's a halfway chance of fixing it yourself, described here: http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html

My camera DSC-S750,got knocked down while taking picture. The zoom does not go in and when i try to turn it on,a flash comes as if its on and then turns off automatically. Please help.

The shock gave it a mechanical problem. It is probably hitting an error sensor when trying to open/close the zoom lens and turning itself off to protect itself from further damage. It will need to be repaired.

Sanyo S650 lens error 2111

Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

Hope the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance.

Lens error 2111

Try to find the reset function in the menu. Or bring it back to the "default" or factory settings. Also check if the date is correct.

Lens error

Hey jennbrady24,
What is most likely causing the lens error is that something is obstructing the movement of the lens (i.e. sand). I would first try removing the batteries and the memory card and waiting at least 2 minutes and then reinserting them. If this doesn't work I would then try blowing compressed air into the lens to try and dislodge whatever is causing the lens to stop moving. If this doesn't work I would try placing the camera on a flat surface with the lens pointed upwards, then press and hold the shutter button while you turn the camera on. If none of these options work I would have it looked at by an authorized service technician. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan
