Clean machine/machine ready light won't go away

The 'clean machine/machine ready' light won't go away even after going through the entire cleaning process twice. At the end of the cleaning cycle it says to 'press rinse' instead of 'empty grounds' like the manual says it should. After I hit the 'rinse' button, it immediately returns to the 'clean machin/machine ready' message. This same thing repeated after cleaning a second time. It also repeated after unplugging the unit for 12 hours.

Jura F50 - same problem - READY/CLEAN won't shut off after three cleaning cycles.

I also clean the machine and the light won't go away.

I have the same problem. I have gone through the cleaning process a dozen times or more and the "clean machine/machine ready" light comes back every time. Bought this E8 re-furbished in July '05. This is the first time it has not come back to "ready" after the cleaning process. It too does the "press rinse" command at the end of the cleaning cycle instead of coming back to the "ready" stage.

Can I still use the machine in this state to make coffee drinks??

Same here... started happening about 6 months ago... I was able to run the clean cycle 5 or 6 limes in a row, and it was finally happy. But the request to "clean machine" came back a few months ago, and I have not been able to get it to go away. Still makes good espresso though.

I wonder if there's a way to reset the electronics so it forgets it "needs" a cleaning cycle? I tried the unplugging trick as well. Didn't work for me either.

Machine was bought new Dec 2004.

Have experienced the same problem for the last nine months. Was finally able to solve it today by following this guide: http://www.wholelattelove.com/articles/jura_capresso_cleaning_guide.cfm
Having cleaned the shower screen I ran the regular cleaning cycle and now the display indiucates "Ready" as it should do.

Having same issue. Spoke to service @Jura. Said it could be computer problem or very dirty inside (where you cannot get access). Would need to return to Jura in PA for service/repair (postage paid from Jura) but quoted $265.00. They could not tell if my machine was in warranty except by sending a receipt (so I guess registration doesn't matter.)

Twice now my solution to remove the clean machine light was; to go through the whole clean cycle (even though it still says ready/clean after I was done), following the clean cycle i powered the machine off and unplugged it for about 30 seconds. Plug it back in and turn it back on. It will not say heating or press rinse only ready/clean then follow the cleaning instructions.

I had the cleaning cycle problem with my S95 for 2 years. I eventually solved it by simply turning off the machine before turning it back on to start the cleaning cycle. No problem since! The service centre kept telling me I must be doing something wrong but could not suggest what it was. Graham Humphries

SOURCE: cleaning machine propt will not go away

We have had this problem too. We found that once you change the filter and do the filter change routine then cleaning will clear the message...go figure!

SOURCE: cleaning machine propt will not go away

I have the same machine and had the same issue all day yesterday. Tech support will tell you to clean the tamper (round disk behind the tan/gray "flap"), which you should do. That didn't do it for me, however, so I kept cleaning. I cleaned out the chute where coffee powder goes. Then, after turning off the machine and removing the tray, I used my fingers to go up/under/behind as much as I could get to. I found the motherload of old coffee grounds. It's hard to describe where, but it was all around that metal area in the center. Just keep poking, but use your fingers so you can feel where the coffee is. I tried q-tips, but that didn't work..you have to feel it. After I got all the gunk out, I ran a cleaning again - no tablet - and it no longer said "press rinse" at the end of the cycle. It asked me to dump the tray, and then it went to "ready"! Yahoo - saved a bundle in shipping and repair.

I can't get my Q to start properly. My start routine is to open the tank valve (20 Lb. with adapter hose) turn the control valve to start and hit the electronic start button. I get an immediate start at...

Yes, it does sound like a regulator problem or clogged burners, which causes delayed ignition.

let's start with the regulator first. Turn the tank valve OFF and disconnect the hose from the tank. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank. Turn the tank valve ON VERY, VERY SLOWLY (slow motion, slow). Once the valve is fully open, light the burner(s) as you usually do. Does the burner light, all the way around? If so, you solved the problem. Always, turn the tank valve on very, very slowly.

If that didn't solve the problem, you burner needs to be removed and thoroughly cleaned, including the venturi valve at the open end of the burner. If it still doesn't light as it should, the regulator needs to be replaced. If necessary, you can purchase it directly from Weber.

Hope this helps you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Happy Grilling!!
