Only after using the heavy duty setting to wash my husbands levis I see water comming from under the washer. I have not noticed water from any other cycle. The hoses and connections are all ok, the drain is ok, non of the hoses or water pipes are damp, the water is appearantly comming from inside the washer. The washer is setting on a solid level floor, the tub appears free to move, all springs wires etc appear connected. I'm at a loss as to why the water. The only conclusion I have reached is the jeans are heavy enough to splash excess ammounts of water some of which splashes over the tub. Do I need a drip pan and ancilliary drain to solve the problem? Please help.

If you tip washer back and look under bottom, do you see water dripping in area of black motor--even small drip? if yes, look at my post on "eco smart won't drain, smells hot".
Mine started with a little water leaking. After a few loads of small leaks, it wouldn't spin out at all--would shut itself down and then I smelled hot electric motor. You need to remove white plastic housing/black motor and replace this unit. see my issue on how to remove--it's easy to do.
1/4 to 1 cup is a lot of water to have on floor at end of wash. I would remove black motor/white plastic housing from underneath washer and look into hole to see if there is something right there plugging the discharge of water. I could not see the sock that was in this area when I looked between white plastic liner and washer tub--sock was too far down into drainage area. see my post on eco smart won't drain, smells hot for further info on how to remove that motor. it's very easy.

Hmm...I'm going to say that your idea was right. It is probably just splashing around in there. Now there are several options you can take. 1) Like you said a drip pan would work if it doesn't bother you too much. I imagine there is not very much clearance under the washer though, so you would need something with a really low profile. 2) If the automatic setting does not get the dirt out, skip this one. But it would still be helpful to know if it splashes as much with the automatic setting. 3) Call the customer service number on the machine. If they know about the problem, you could probably ask for a fix of some kind. And if it is still under warranty, you might be able to get a brand new one anyway, assuming they deem it as a problem or defect. Good luck, let me know how it goes.
Re; water under washer.
The ammount of water is from 1/4 to 1 cup after an individual load. It only became noticable reciently, after the last 3 or 4 heavy loads, using the manual setting on next to the top level. There is an automatic function, but due to the dirt and grit in the jeans I use manual.

How much water are you seeing coming out onto the floor? Does it look like it was splashed there or is it to the point of flooding.
If it doesn't seem like a huge amount of water, I'd say your theory is probably right, but in order to eliminate that you should also try turning down the water level on that mode and see what it does (assuming your washer has a water level control).
