Setting up router

There is a good page at the link I'll show below that tells about default addresses and login names/passwords for Trendnet routers. Although 192.168.10.1 is -common- with Trendnet, so is 192.168.1.1 - and if both of those fail, find the little reset button near where your LAN/Internet source line plugs in, with a small object (unfolded paper clip will do) press and hold the recessed reset button for several seconds, then power it up as normal. This resets the router back to factory defaults.

How do I set up a secure password?

For trendnet

Your Trendnet wireless router lets you broadcast your home network across your entire house, so you can access the Internet in any room. This signal may be powerful enough to extend into neighbors' houses, where they could easily jump on the network if it is unsecured. To protect your network, set up Wireless Encryption Protocol, or WEP, to encrypt data and prevent access unless the user enters the correct password.

Type "http://192.168.0.1" in your Internet browser's address bar and press "Enter." Enter "admin" for the username and leave the password field blank. Click "Log In" to log into your Trendnet wireless router's administrative program. Click "Wireless" from the left pane of the "Basic" tab. Click "WEP" under the "Wireless Security Mode" section at the bottom of the screen. Enter your preferred password for the network. A strong password is made up of a random selection of numbers and letters. Click "Save Settings" at the top of the screen to save your WEP settings.

I lost my trendnet router tew 231brp password

You can reset the router by pressing the reset button with a paperclip. The button should be by the antenna. You have to press it an hold it for about 15-20 seconds to reload the router to the factory defaults. Then you can login with the default password and set up the wireless again.

the factory default password for the router login should be admin both for username and for password.

It wont connet to my belkin wireless router

Hi...to find the password, or network key:

1) Login to your router.

To do this, open a web browser on a computer, as if about to view a web page: then type the router address, http://192.168.2.1 in the address bar.

2) You should see a prompt asking for a password. Just click 'submit' button if none has been set: otherwise, enter the correct router login password.

3) You should see the router user interface. In the left hand menu, under Wireless, click Security.

The 'Pre-Shared Key' or PSK you see there is the network key (password) you need.

Please come back to Fixya if this doesn't work or if you need help with any of it. Good luck
