Hi
There is a seal on top of the machine under the water tank. To get to it, remove the water tank, and set aside. There is a large doughnut shaped cap on top of the machine. Slip a screwdriver on the outside edge of the cap and pry up gently. When it snaps up, go to the other side of the cap and do the same. There is a black seal in the center and if you stick your finger in the center and it lifts out, it need to be replaced. Clean any residue inside the opening with a Q-tip.
When you get the new seal, it won't slip in. Insert it at a slight angle (double lips down), then take your finger nail and run it around the bottom edge of the seal until it slips in, then push down. Snap the cap back on and your set to go.

I have a Shaerer Ambiante Espresso Machine that is giving the "select beverage, heating steam" error message. What does this mean.

Please descale the machine. Make sure you are using authentic descaling product. There are many unscrupulous products labeled as descaler but contain Baking soda only.

Bosch tassimo T65 - water draining in to drip tray possible cause and resolution

I had a problem on my Tassimo T65 where water was entering the bottom drip tray through the small hole at the rear. It seems many people have this problem but after researching on line there is little help although I found on this sit how to take the coffee maker apart and from that thread the possible cause for my own issue.
So if your machine seems to be leaking from the small drain hole to the rear of the drip tray try this before you think it is either in need of specialist repair by Bosch at a cost almost the same as a new machine or before you start to take it apart and have a look yourself.
CAUSE - The water is coming from the drain hole because the pressure valve at the top of the machine is blocked with calcium deposits through prolonged use without descaling sufficiently.
SOLUTION - Purchase a good quality coffee machine descaler. Sit the whole coffee machine in a tray or large oven tray so you can collect the overflowing descaler throughout the process, it's not economical to waste this solution. Remember to clean down and dry the coffee maker each time.
Use at least half strength descaler do not water it down more than 1:1
Follow the descaling process by inserting the yellow disc and holding the start button down for 3 seconds.
Repeat this process several times, recovering the fluid leaking in to the tray and cup or container. If you start to see small lumps being dispelled in to the cup try to remove these for further descaling.
After several cycles you should notice that the leaking or flow of water from the bottom drain hole becomes less until it stops. To force the dissolving scale out of the pressure valve try running the normal clean cycle but with the descaling solution, the flow is longer and will help flush the restriction.
After a number of descaling and clean cycles the leak or flow from the drain hole will have stopped, if not continue till it does.
Note: I ran cycles for about 2 hours with periods of rest to allow the solution to do its work.
Now the leak or flow has stopped clean out the reservoir and replace with clean water and run at least 4 clean and rinse cycles.
i hope this works for you and now enjoy your coffee.

What does it mean to descale my tassimo? the yellow light is on and the screen keeps saying "descale". thanks

In order to keep your Tassimo machine operational at full order, it is important to descale it every three months. Descaling products are widely available from stores that sell coffeemakers and espresso machines. Be sure that the product you buy to descale your Tassimo machine is intended for this specific use only. Mix the descaling product directly in the water container, following the instructions provided on the descaling packaging. Then replace the water container on the machine. Place a large cup or mug on the cup stand, insert the cleaning disc, bar code down and close the brew mechanism. As soon as the AUTO light illuminates, press and release the start/stop button. This will fill the brew cycle with descaling solution. Empty the cup and let the machine stand for 15 minutes. Then open the brew mechanism and close it again, leaving the cleaning disc in place. Repeat this step two more times for maximum descaling effectiveness.

Discard the remaining descaling agent from the water container, rinse it well and refill with fresh, cold water. Clean the machine by flushing water through it in the same manner and emptying the cup as it fills. Make sure that all the descaling solution has been completely rinsed away, and then flush two full water containers through the machine before using it again. Remove the cleaning disc, rinse and refill the water container and your Tassimo machine is ready to use. Also, before you descale your Tassimo machine, always unplug it. Also, never immerse the appliance in water and nor should you use abrasive cleaning products or scouring materials on any part of your Tassimo machine. This method works for most espresso machines, including some of these popular models: the DeLonghi Magnifica EAM3200S, DeLonghi Magnifica ESAM4200S, DeLonghi Perfecta ESAM5400, Gaggia 74507BCN Classic, Krups EA8080 Espresseria Automatic, DeLonghi PrimaDonna ESAM6600, the BC0255 DeLonghi coffee machine and the Krups Nespresso CititZ XN 7006.

Heavy scale buildup runs out of steam normal descaler doesnt seem to make much of a difference. would some vinegar help

HI
Descaler is 100% acid and straight vinegar is 5% and descaler has no taste. Vinegar is not recommended by any manufacturer. If scale has built up that heavy, you had your water hardness set to low which most everyone does. I have mine set on 4 even though I use good water. There is a product call Durgol that is a liquid, where you could run a heavier solution to try to remove the scale. Yours is a 208v machine, so you want to make sure that you use the descale mode in the menu or you could cause your boilers to leak. I have some if you need one.

Cant remember how to de scale

Instructions per De'Longhi:

10.3 DESCALING
Due to the continuous heating of the water used to make the coffee, over time it is normal for the tubing inside the machine to fill with lime scale. When the light starts flashing, it is time to descale the machine.
NOTE: when the light switches on, the coffee maker can still be used to prepare coffee.
Proceed as follows:
• Empty the tank and pour in the contents of one bottle (125 ml) of DURGOL descaler plus one liter of water. For subsequent descaling operations, descaling solution can be purchased from authorized technical service centers.
Note: Make sure splashes of descaler do not fall onto surfaces sensitive to acid such as marble, limestone and granite.
• place a container with a minimum capacity of 34 oz. under the
cappuccino frother;
• turn the machine on by pressing the button.
• wait for the green and indicator lights to come on steady.
• press and hold the button for at least 5 seconds. The decalcification warning light will illuminate to indicated the start of the descaling program (the and lights remain off to indicate that it is not possible to make coffee).
• turn the steam knob half a turn counter-clockwise. The
descaling solution will come out of the cappuccino frother and start to fill the container underneath.
• the descaling program automatically performs a series of deliveries and pauses, so as to remove the lime scale deposits from inside the coffee maker.
• after around 30 minutes, when the light comes on, turn the steam knob half a turn clockwise until it stops.
The machine must be rinsed so as to eliminate the residues of descaling solution from inside the machine. Proceed as follows:
• remove the water tank, rinse it and fill it with clean water.
• reposition the tank.
• empty the collection container (located under the milk frother) that is full of liquid, and then replace it under the milk frother.
• turn the steam knob half a turn counter-clockwise. Hot water will come out of the milk frother and fill the container underneath.
• when the tank is empty, the indicator light goes off and another light (looks like a pitcher pouring water) comes on.
• turn the steam knob all the way clockwise and fill the water
tank with clean water again.
• the program of descaling is now terminated and the machine is
ready to make coffee again.
NOTE: if the descaling procedure is interrupted before completion, the alarm is not deactivated and the procedure
must be started again form the beginning.
IMPORTANT: FAILURE TO DESCALE THE APPLIANCE REGULARLY INVALIDATES THE WARRANTY.

Krups Anticalc Kit for descaling. There is no information in the box how to use this kit. How much water to add?. How long does it sit for? How many times does one boil the water after the descaling...

Cleaning the Machine
- Never wash your espresso machine accessories in the dishwasher.

After use, the water container must be emptied.

• Drip tray
This must be emptied after using the appliance by taking off the grid See figure (19)below. If several espressos are being prepared one after the other, the drip tray should be emptied from time to time (about once every 7 - 8 espressos). The presence of water is normal and does not signify a leak. If necessary, clean the drip tray and its grid with water and a little non-abrasive washing-up liquid, rinse and dry. When reassembling the machine, ensure that the plastic lining is in the right place See figure (20) below.

• The brewing head, the filter basket and the filter holder

These must be cleaned after each use. All you need to do is wipe a damp cloth over the brewing head of your appliance and to wash the other accessories in water and a little non-abrasive dishwashing liquid, rinse and dry. If the brewing head is heavily clogged up, unscrew the grid using a coin, clean it and refit it, pressing down firmly See figure (21)below.
When your espresso machine is not being used, do not leave the filter holder in the appliance to prevent wear on the gasket.

• The cup warming plate: remove this to clean it with water and a little non-abrasive dishwashing liquid, rinse and dry.

• The cappuccino accessory

For more thorough cleaning the cappuccino accessory can be dismantled from the appliance.

Descaling

Descalling (SIC) is necessary to keep your espresso machine running efficiently.

As a result descaling of your espresso machine should be done fairly frequently
with citric or tartaric acid.

• Use caution when descaling your espresso machine as the acid substance within the descaling powder may damage countertops or any other surface it comes in contact with.

However, we would advise you to use the reference solution as W F054 that is available from Krups. Descaling depends on the hardness of the water, but also on the frequency of use.

To descale, follow the following method:

• Unscrew the grid from the brewing head of the appliance and clean it See figure (21)below.
• Dissolve a packet of KRUPS descaling solution in 17 oz1510 ml of lukewarm water and pour the whole batch into the empty water container.
• Place a container under the brewing head. Run through about 1/3 of the liquid immediately, setting the selector to the position See figure (9)below.
• Stop the appliance, leaving the position See figure (9)below engaged and wait for 10 - 15 minutes to allow the descaler to take effect.
• Next, start the machine again and allow the rest of the liquid to run through.
• Then rinse with two water containers of fresh water and replace the grid on the head of the appliance (see section on “Cleaning the machine”).

The warranty does not include espresso machines that do not function, or do not function properly, because descaling has not been carried out.
