I have a GE Advantium and the magnatron is bad. The sticker with the model number is wore off. According to the owners manual and pictures it is either an SCA2000 or SCA2001 but I am not sure. How do I tell the difference? Also, what is the part # for the magnatron?

If this is a GE Advantium series microwave, the control panel can be locked to prevent children from manipulating the controls. To lock or unlock, press and hold the CLEAR/OFF button for 5 seconds. These instructions are included on page 36 of the owner's manual listed here:

what is your full model number,, disregard any numbers on the part itself as most are not part numbers, and official ge part number would start with a W an example would be wb26x10023... i just made that up ...
to get your part number get the full model number on sticker inside, then u could go to sears.com to thier parts and service section, lokk up model number and get part number for magnetron hope this helps

The owner's manual will address any child lock.

I have had this same problem and have replaced the door switch a couple of times. It is very easy and can be done with out taking the unit off the wall.

I would think that you can find that info either in the owners manual or right in the area where the light resides. Usually there is a sticker there with the info you need. Best wishes!
