The MP3 player is no longer playing music. It works as a jump drive, from which I can play songs on my computer, but it won't play anything on its own.
It happened to me once before.
So I formatted it threw the program that came with the device and then I copied my music files once again while the program was working. After that everything worked just fine.
Hope it helps!!

1. Why do i get format error when i put songs from a cd on the eclipse? = This is probably because the format that your songs are currently in is not supported by your device. Supported devices on the Mach Speed Eclipse 180 MP3 player are: mp3, wav, and wma. If your music is for example filename.cda, it won't be able to play because of the file format being .cda.
2. I also see the song on the eclipse but it says drm protected and will not play the song. = When ripping your music, check your ripping options in whichever ripping software you are using that protecting music files is off, this may be the reason why your music cannot play - it may be protected to only play on the computer that ripped(recorded or duplicated) the song.
MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet to your computer and then copy them to your MP3 player using the USB cable. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable to the MP3 player and the computer. You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player will create a MP3 music file for each music track. if u used window media player its will mess up your mp3 by duplicating songs and not leting u play songs. What i do is connect it to the computer and it should pop up. DONT open window media player. Open the files and add your music by dragging them into your mp3 from another folder. This only works if you have a different folder of music. It should work. If all your music is in Widows media player it wont work. Also try deleting all your music from ur mp3 but copy your musice onto your computer first. Good luck i hope i helped.
Hi, There is no problem with the pen drive, there is a problem with the music player..... if you wanna play the songs on the computer then play it with VLC player...download free player from the following link :

if you wanna play the song in your HI-FI music player or in your Car's music system , then convert them to ".mp3" format..... here is how you can convert to .mp3 format....
When you download songs, save it first on your My Music folder for you to easily track the song list. Once you have successfully downloaded the songs, insert your MP3 Player. Format your MP3 Player first by right clicking the drive and click format. Once it is formatted, Copy the songs from your My Music folder then Paste it on your MP3 Player drive. *Note: Try to play your saved song in your Windows Media Player if the song is working fine before you copy it on your MP3 Player. Drop a comment if you still have questions. I would be happy assisting you.
I've never heard of audio CD being block before from playback. Try this:
Reset your Ipod back to factory settings.
Drag and drop your songs from Itunes into your player. Do not use playlists.
Playback the songs from Itunes using the Ipod player as the file location. If playback is working, undock you Ipod from the computer and play again using the MP3 player.
It won't play music while connected to computer, that's for sure. It only plays when it's disconnected from the wall charger and computer.
The songs could be in the wrong format
AAC is iTunes native format
Mp3 generally works
WMA is iffy - only unprotected (non-DRM) files will work
Streaming songs won't work
Try converting the songs into a different format because the format that the song is in might not completely be played on the ipod. Right click on the song and click on convert to mp3. Then try transferring the mp3 format song onto the ipod and it should play right then.
Reason could be because if you are no longer an "active' customer, the mp3 player can't go out and download the "permissions/rights" needed to play the song. As opposed to the songs you rip because you are using the cd for that, which means the songs are yours. At least thats my opinion.
