I press start. It acts like it wants to come on. I here the water run through the machine. I hear different componance getting read. Then silence. Machine beeps, flashes and red error code reads CE. All this takes place in about 3 to 5seconds. I go get my trouble shooting guide and it says Error Code CE means Communication Error.I called out a repairman for a reputable company. he said three fifty buck, and told me it is one of the circit boards ; that I would be better buying a new one. I called sears parts dept. they tell me its either one of the circut boards( there are 2) and each one will cost me from 125 to 130.00. how can I tell which circut board is bad and could there be simple problem that everyone has missed. the wash is actually a kenmore elite calypso 24082; bought in 2004.my email address is [email protected]
On the ccu, the board on the right is usually the culprit, I have recently replaced one with that same error but I would first unplug it and remove and re connect each plug on the board looking for dark connections or dialysis, corrosion. If not fully insert each plug and try again.

I have the same problem except my machine is a top load Kenmore Elite Calypso. We have checked all the connections, and my husband found a bad fuse. Now he thinks we need to get the board out to replace fuse. Could this be all that's wrong? That would definately be a great Christmas present! Sherri
you can solder a new fuse on the board if it is not a replaceable one. good luck i hope it i that simple.
