Fan oven replacement

I am attempting to replace the fan element. When I took the old one out I noted that the 2 white leads crimped together and in a plastic sleeve were on the rhs and the 2 yellow and green leads, not sheathed were on the lhs. What I did not appreciate was that there was a third (middle) pole attached to the bracket and therefore earthed.
When the replacement part arrived it did not have the middle pole just the 2 at either end of the element. So I attached the 2 leads to the 2 poles at either end. This blew the fuse! They are sending me a new element should the element be connected by the white leads to the element and the yellow green leads to earth via the attachment plate scews?

If your new element is missing a terminal it is likely to be the earth terminal so when your new element arrives DO NOT connect the green\yellow wire to anything just wrap it in duct tape. As this is the earth if you connect it to the element you are just making a dead short so will blow element and fuse. The element is touching the oven liner so is earthed by the oven anyway. :)

silly boy!
the element is probably ok as what you did will not damage it.
the green/yellow wire should go to the base plate and if there is no connector for it, just use one of the fixing bolts. the other two wires go to each end of the element

Fixed fan element, but can't remember how to put it back together again

This tutorial will show you how to check your Smeg element and how to replace your Smeg cooker element.
Here are the 3 main faults to look for in your oven or cooker that is not heating
  1. Your oven will not work until the clock/timer has been re-set after replacing an oven element or tripping the electrical supply. Consult your Smeg manual.
  2. If your Oven is not getting hot or heating up it could be a faulty element, if the fan in the oven is running and the thermostat light is on, this will lead us to believe that the element has gone faulty. With grills the thermostat light should come on there should be heat, if not then this could be the grill element or the thermostat.
  3. When you turn the oven on, the household electrical supply trips on the Rcd (this is the earth trip in the fuse board sometimes called the breaker tripping) your fan oven element has gone to earth and needs replacing.

Have beko D533W electric cooker oven not heating up fan still working

Generally speaking, if the fan is working o/k, then it is usually the fan oven element that has failed.
This is usually located at the rear of the oven compartment behind a removeable cover.

Replace fan motor in an electric fan oven

For all Free appliance repair videos visit our VIDEO TUTORIALS

1, If the fan motor in the back of the oven is going round and the temperature light is on (normally little red light), but there is no heat then you will probably need a new oven element, these are generally very easy to fit and readily available from our website these can be tested with a electric meter.
To gain access to the NEFF element you will have to remove the back plate from inside the oven. Once removed you will see the fan and element, if you look closely at the element you will probably see a small hole burnt in it where it has blown. Sometimes however there is no evidence of a fault but the element is open circuit ie: broken inside the element casing, either way it will need replacing. Some elements will are fixed from inside the oven and some are held in place by nuts from the rear of the machine.
2, If your NEFF fan oven is getting warm but takes a very long time to cook or is burning the food more on one side than the other, then you need to check if your oven fan motor is working you will see the blade turning fast if it is ok. if the element is heating but the fan motor is not blowing the heat into the oven then you need To replace the oven fan motor is a little more expensive and a bit more involved.
3. If you have the opposite problem ie: your oven is over heating and burning everything then you will need to replace your NEFF oven thermostat
4, A quite common and easily overlooked answer is if your NEFF oven is not working at all ie: no heat and no fan then the chances are that someone has put the oven timer into AUTO mode, simply put oven back to MANUAL mode and all should be working again.

No fan or heat

Hello..... have you (a) checked that you have power going to the oven...(b)...With the power to the oven switched off open the terminal block (where the cable from your socket enters the oven) check that all connections are secure....(c) remove the rear panel of the oven and check that the safety stat is ok.......(usually small square white or gray unit wit two wires running to it found on rear of main oven...it is usually fixed to a bracket or directly fixed to the cabinet...test for continuity with a multimeter if open circuit ..that is no meter reading relpace it

Sunbeam electric fireplace

Most likely sounds like the thermal fuse has gone out. if you take off the top of the fireplace you will find a little metal tube in front of the blower. This is the thermal fuse if it has gone out only your fan will blow and the heating element will not put out heat. You can pick one of the fuses up at radio shack for 3 dollars. the only problem is how to go about repacing it since it was crimped in and you can't use a soldering iron because it will trip it. If I come up with a way to change it I will let you know so far I can't.
