Dishwasher stops after filling

I have a Kenmore model 16949 Ultra III. It fills, then quits showing error codes E6, E7 of E8.

What is this related to and how do I fix it?

SOURCE: Kenmore Ultra Wash Dishwasher wiring diagram

if unavailable on line, contact mfg's parts and you should be able to order it.
also, they likely do not make the unit. the sears may be able to tell you who made it. that company would be able to get you a diagram. just make some phone calls.

SOURCE: Kenmore Ultra Wash III Dishwasher will not drain properly

From the sound of things, your dishwasher drains faster than your sink drain ( via the garbage disposal) can drain it off.. You may have a problem with the way your sink drain/trap is vented and there is too much back pressure to drain down quickly.. When you run water from your sink, does it take a long time to drain down or if you fill your sink up and drain it, does it drain slowly ? That may be your problem.. Hope that helps.

SOURCE: Kenmore ultra wash dishwasher control lock light flashing

Hi jabberr216,

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

Your question is: You have an older model Kenmore ultra wash dishwasher model #15805890. The control lock light is flashing. No buttons are working. The dishwasher does not turn on. Any solutions?

Sure! Someone must have activated the lock. It is next to either the 'air dry' or 'heated dry' button.
Press and hold that button till the lock light goes out. About 6 seconds. That's it. It turns on the same way.

Feel free contact me again!

Fixerfailure, is the knock-out plug still inside if the garbage disposal inlet?

Stick a screwdriver in there to make sure.

spazmo1969, could be the rubber flapper is broken off in the pump discharge outlet.

How do I get error code f2e2 off my dishwasher?

"F2 - A water leak, which if detected will stop water from entering the dishwasher via the inlet valve. You will probably experience the dishwasher not filling properly during a cycle. Possibly caused by a faulty water level indicator, you can also try cleaning the filters and drain if you notice a lot of standing water remaining in the dishwasher basin."

"Look in the bottom of the unit. Something has it stuck, like food."

sorry if this doens't solve your problem. This is what turned up with your keywords in a quick search engine query.

Getting error code E6 on our Fishare and Paykel dishwasher DW60CDX1. Unsure how old it is, and if it's worth repairing?

E6 is a spill over alarm it basically means it is filling with to much water, it sounds like the water inlet valve is starting to jam open, tell me if you open the door does the water keep coming in? if it does the valve is jammed open which is a relatively cheap fix, if it stops when the door is opened it is likely a pressure switch or flow meter problem or possibly a control board.

Kenmore ultra quits working pf and e8 light come on

If your pf light comes on that means that your outdoors fuse needs to be replaced. The same thing happened to me and I bought another dishwasher for the same proble to occur. I don't know if it's to late but the only thing wrong is your fuse is blown. Good luck!!!!!
