I purchased a Perstige Car Alarm From Am Indepentant Dearler just 2 weeks after I purchase my 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer. The first week I had problems with the interior dashboard lights. Which i took it back and was fixed. It has been about a year and the alarm does not beep anymore nor does it has flashing lights to indicate that the alarm is in-tact. I do hearthe locks lock. What is up with this device? Was it installed incorrectly? Do I need to get someone else to inspect the wiring of the device? Or is gonig cheapy downfall? Your input to this situation would be greatly appreciated.

Your vehicle already has an alarm and immobilizer fitted by the factory and you can't have two! Fitting alarms and remote starters is a skilled job and needs a pro grade scan tool computer. Take it to a local alarm / radio installer. It's not expensive and the job will be done right. The way the OEM equipment works is very complex and needs to be disabled first.
Amazon stuff is 'Sell and Run', you have no warranty or support. At this price, it can't be a quality system. Read the 1 star, 2 star and 3 star reviews and send it back! The 5 and 5 star reviews are 'verified purchases' from people that got it for free and didn't fit it.
i bought a used 2004 mitsubishi lancer ls sportback with the same problem. a google search told me this was a known defect and was covered under a dealer recall--no cost to me. my local dealer did the job. it took at least a half day--the entire dash, they said, had to be removed. the fix isn't perfect, but it is light years above and beyond what it was b4. the new knobs aren't silky smooth, but the old ones needed tools to turn!
In 2003, the Lancer (or equivalent) was manufactured and sold with engine sizes of 1.3L, 1.5L, 1.6L, 1.8L, 2.0L, and 2.4L, depending on where it was manufactured or originally sold. Mitsubishi is an international manufacturer, you know.
I would recommend you purchase a car that will strain your budget less - how good is owning a car that worries you? NONE -- Always - Also - take down the Vin # - call the local dealer and ask about
recalls and service bulletins - you will be amazed. Some recalls must
be fixed for the life of the vehicle.
I bought a viper and I love it and its one of the best alarms. you can find some that are after market for cheap at least 200 bucks or less. but good luck they are not easy to install.
