The Kenmore PRO also has an Ultra Wash Filtration High Energy Filtration System that helps the majority of us with hard water. It features 2 spray arms, and a Turbozone that blasts away the most gunked up items you can make a mess on.

The Kenmore PRO also features 6 cycles. The High Energy Smart Wash Cycle is the most advanced and versatile. It actually senses the load size, soil amount, toughness of soil and uses minimal water and energy. The Smart Wash Cycle runs from 110 minutes to a max of 194 depending on toughness of soil and uses from 4.2 gallons of water to 6.9.

The Pots Pans Cycle also makes some adjustments depending on soil level and takes from 140 minutes to 203 minutes to complete. It uses 4.8 to 6.9 gallons of water.

There is also a self-adjusting Normal Cycle that runs from 110 minutes to 193 minutes and uses 4.2 gallons to 6.9 gallons of water.

The Kenmore PRO also has a self-adjusting China Gentle Cycle that provides a light wash and gentle dry for delicate items and runs from 105 minutes to 194 minutes and uses 4.2 gallons to 6.9 gallons of water.

It also has a 1 Hour Wash that runs for 58 minutes and uses 8.0 gallons of water and a 15 minute Quick Rinse Cycle that uses 2.1 galllons of water.

The Kenmore PRO also has 5 other options that are additional to the Cycles. Each option adds time and water to the selected cycle. They are:

TurboZone, HI Temp Wash which raises the water temperature to 120 degrees F, a Steam Sanitize which raises the final rinse to 155 degrees F, a Top-Rack Only Option, and a Heated Dry Option.

The Kenmore PRO also has a Delay Option that allows you to run the dishwasher on off-peak hours and delays the start time up to 6 hours.

I have not field-tested all these options yet, becaue I am such a skeptic -- and picky about my dishes, I usually go ahead and always use the TurboZone, the Hi-Temp Wash, the Steam Sanitizer, and the Heated Dry Option. But, hey if you are plunking down $1500 for a dishwasher--you should make use of all your options. I'll keep this review up-to-date as my dates with the Kenmore PRO progress with dinner parties and my very precious china, but for now (mostly because of the "ClangBanger") our good china is safely stored in the cabinets.

Food always gets stuck in the water spray holes pluging them up. It needs a better food filter system. We have a GLD4500N

As recommended most of the dishwashers are not equipped with this filter. But it is always recommended to clear the food off the dish/plates, wash off or wipe and put it for cleaning. The dish washer cleaning is entirely the degreasing/ sterilising of the vessels.
Hence the tip to get your dish washer in good shape is to wipe/wash off the food and load it to the trays inside.
This is my suggestion as we cannot improvise the machine. I hope this helps Good day

Zanussi ZDT 6244 Dishwasher , wash cycle completes , all water drains out , but the dishes are not brilliant clean & dishes are still wet

Try cleaning all the jet orifices in the rotating vanes. Use tooth brush. Check for dish plate is touching the rotating arm in the wash chamber. Rotate by hand for freeness.

Top rack of dish washer does not have enough water

Trouble shooting here... but the same pumb that circulates water... vents it.... So, if the vent valve is clogged with food debris, then you would not retain enough water to wash all the upper rack dishes...
I recommend inspecting the exhaust tube port of the pump (a selenoid is the operating device for that valve). Be sure that it is able to operate freely (close all the way. Otherwise, it is just the pump intake!! only choices...you have already eliminated the rest (GOOD JOB)

How do you make plates or bowls that are strong enough for everyday food use and you can use in the dishwasher? What material should you use (what kind of clay or other) and what is the process? Can I use...

You would want to use CERAMIC clay. The easiest way to make dishes is on a potter's wheel, but could be done with rolling pin and bowl / plate / cup to form. Roll clay anwhere from 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick, using flour or cornstarch to prevent sticking to work surface / tools / forms. Lay clay over form and trim off excess clay. As it will be very soft, you may want to leave it uncovered for a day or two so it can dry out and harden to near-leather hard.
You CAN use your oven to fire (bake), and for safe food / dishwasher use, after first firing, glaze with non-lead, non-toxic pottery glaze. *Careful not to get too thick as glaze WILL run during the second firing.
Your local Arts & Crafts / Pottery store should have all you need to make what you want, as well as DIY help on / with all aspects of pottery for even the greenest of beginners.

Washing leaves spots in dress shirts

What you could possibly try, is run an empty load, to wash the washer drum clean of sediment. If the washing macine drum is stained, clean it by hand with a cleaning compund, like clorox or some other kind of cleaning solution. Another thing that you can try, is to use the dish washer cleaning solution that they sell, to clean dish washers of sediment. It comes in a small white, plastic square container and Walmart sells it.
