Hi

First make sure that nothing is blocking the drain pump assembly located inside the lower front panel of the dishwasher. If the issue returns after its cleaned then try to reset the dishwasher control by pressing the HEATED DRY button and hold it for 15 seconds, if its still not resolved then it means that the control board has gone bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Panel lights shut off when door closed. Have to set before shutting door is this normal?

Hello Pat Braley - The issue may lie with the door latch; a door switch is used to start and stop your dishwasher. It's a safety feature that won't allow water to flow with the door open. With a faulty door switch, there is a chance your dishwasher won't start at all. Dishwasher door switches are about an inch long. They are usually black but can be red. There are metal prongs on the body of the switch called terminals. Some door switches have two terminals and some have three. If your door switch is OK, check the timer assembly. This controls when and how long power is sent to other controls on your dishwasher. If these controls don't receive power, they won't work. The timer assembly contains a motor. Check this motor as well. It is often cheaper just to replace the timer motor rather than the complete assembly. My last suggestion is to check the cycle selector switches. These switches indicate cycles for washing, drying, and setting the temperature of the water. If one of your switches is the problem your dishwasher may also prevent the unit to start. Dishwasher cycle selector switches tell the timer which cycle to run by opening and closing electrical circuits. Most selector switches are six to eight inches long. They are usually black and have terminals. By testing each one of these parts with an ohmmeter you should be able to determine why your dishwasher is not working. It is possible for other parts to fail but these are the most common parts to check. If any proves to be ineffective, I strongly suggest contacting a professional to move forward accurately.

Dishwasher drains but when set to run does not fill with water- there is no noise as if it is running. but does go through the cycle because opens the soap dish? anyideas

Check that your supply faucet is open, Check if there is a screen in the supply line, these can become blocked due to scale deposits from the mains. If there is no screen check that the inlet solenoid valve has not got blocked. If none of the above help, check that there is power getting to the solenoid valve when the machine is supposed to be on the fill cycle. If no power is betting to the valve, the timer might ba faulty. (You can try hand filling the machine and see if it goes through a cycle, at least up to the rinse stage, this will tell you if the timer control is working).

I need a wiring diagram to troubleshoot a non-working Dishwasher (Maytag DWU9200) The cycle doesn't advance, and none of the loads function when the timer is advanced manually

I had the problem years ago on a Maytag DWU9200. The problem was that a tiny wire was broken on the motor that is running the timer and the timer was not working. I had to replace the complete timer assembly. I got an electrical schematic with the new timer.
This has now worked for 5 years...
Today the float for the float switch was stocked, preventing the water to fill the dishwasher during the cycle. I moved the float up and down several times and it works now.

Dishwasher will not start cycle.

OK so you have power, your door interlock switch is working, the intake solenoid is operating.

The issue is that the cycle does not start. This would indicate that your timer is not advancing. The timer tells the machine what to do, when, and for how long. It is not advancing and is stuck at the start of the wash cycle (fill with water). This is not a big issue as a timer is usually easy to replace.

I don't know what type of machine you have so I don't know if is a mechanical or a digital timer.

If mechanical dial type you can simply tun the dial and see if the cycles change. If so for sure you timer is the issue. You simply remove and replace.

Digital is harder to check but from what you say it is most likely your timer.

Shut the breaker off.

Remove the screws from the door frame and from inside the door. Gently remove the control panel. The timer is a simple unit to remove. Unscrew it and disconnect the power supply. Go get a new one from your local parts supplier. Installation is the reverse of removal.

Hope this helps, if so please rate this answer.

Bosch dishwasher timer freezing

There is a recall on the control board of many of these models, butyour problem is likely not related. It sounds like a plugged drain system or a possible bad drain pump. That's why you are hearing the pump running constantly. I have written a guide to help. It is here. Thanks!

Dishwasher not starting cycle

a dishwasher has a timer similar to a dryer you need a schematic so you can check the voltages at the heat cycle some times the timer goes out, and rarely the heating element or pump goes out. and make sure when you press start power travels through the button.

Dishwasher keeps running and countdown stalls randomly.

Sounds like The settings have messed up it happened to mine a while back you need to do a hard reset of the dish washer mine was unplugging the thing then plugging back in 30 seconds later then holding the cycle button a few seconds and then power on again. Find your hard reset combination of what your make and model of the dishwasher is I hope this helps.
