Loose Input Connection

The antenna/cable input connection seems to be loose, and the reception is fuzzy most of the time. Jiggling the connections sometimes helps. The connector that is attached to the TV can be twisted in a full circle in either direction, and can be moved from side to side in any direction as well. I have tried connecting both cable and intenna inputs, and the result is the same. If the problem is the connector, can it be replaced easily?

Absolutely, it's a bad coax jack. It's a very common problem. Probably a 35-90$ repair is all. The jack on the tuner just has to be replaced. Sometimes the whole tuner has to be replaced causing the price to go up a bit, but that doesn't normally happen.

I have a tcl tv it turns on but pic fades in an out it is extremly blotchy fuzzy

You may want to turn off your tv for like 5 to 10 minutes. Turn it on again, check if it is same thing. If so, you may want to check cables connected on the back of it. More than likely, there is loose connection. Still same? check INPUT by pressing INPUT, SOURCE, TV/VIDEO and choose one by one on the input lists until get pic.

I just got a new 26" Westinghouse TV, and the screen says "No Channels in List" and when I search for channels, it is not finding any.

What type of antenna are you using? Or what is your source for accessing channels? (i.e. - are you connecting to a cable tv service box or are you using a receiver ect.) Make sure that your source is connected to the input method that you are currently using on the tv.

There are many input methods to choose from in the settings of the tv. They are generally called antenna 1, antenna 2, cable, aux, hdmi - and a few other names. There should be a button on your remote to change them. The function is usually called "source" or "input". Press that button to change the input method until you get a picture on the tv or pick up some sort of reception. when you have the tv set on the same method of input that your antenna source is connected to, you will get channel reception or some sort of picture. Thats when you use the menu functions to auto find channels for you and let it go through its checking scan to report how many it has picked up.

If its running the scan for channels and not locating any stations, and the picture is either scrambled with the white noise sound tv's make when off channel or if its just single color screen without any sound - then you know the antenna input method you have chosen on the back of the tv is not the current method set in the settings under the menu key.

Most of the time the inputs are labeled on the back. If you look under the cable antenna connection, it should say "cable" somewhere in small print - or "antenna 1 input", antenna 2 ect. Look on the back of the tv. If you are using RCA jacks that are labeled right and left for sound and a third connector for video ect, look for the name of the input method of those three connections on the back of the tv. It should be marked as input - aux 1 ect. Then just change the source chosen in the tv to match it and have it auto program your channels.

Hi-\r\n Thank you for being here- We were watching our Sharp Flat Screened TV, beautiful nice picture. We noticed when we hooked the cable up for Direct TV in our new home, the input connection point was...

With Direct TV, you should use the video input (composite video- yellow/picture, red/right stereo, white/left stereo)
OR
component video- (green/video, blue/video,red/video white/left channel stereo, red/right channel stereo)

the antenna connector should never be used anymore unless connecting an outdoor antenna or VCR.

if one of your input connectors is damaged, it is not likely that is will be repaired without replacing the entire circuit board (expensive!!!).
just use a different "input"- there are usually at least 3 on most TV's

Kdl-37w55/57 sony bravia problem is every so often the picture seems to stutter, delay best way to describe it. Any ideas

hello, try tightening your antenna connection this happens when your signal input cable is fualty or loose check that first. then try all other connection that come from your cable, sat reciever or antenna hook up. if your using a digital reception device or digital antenna check those connections to. and be aware that digital reception has interuptions and they depend on the distance between you and the digital signal broadcast station, sometimes storms and atmospheric conditions may cuase a brief lapse in the signal.(stutter) what are you using for a reception? satelite, cable or a digital antenna? hope this helps

Off air antenna hook up

You probably have to set the tv to run on the input jacks your antenna is plugged in to. In other words these newer tv's have 2 or 3 inputs and they only run on the input it is set on, if not the right one you must change the setting. On mine there is a button next to the on/off button on the set which is inputs, keep pressing that button and it cycles through inputs till you get the right one. When tv first comes on it flashes the name of the current input on the screen--think they all do that. If input is hdmi, it refers to the hdmi socket, if composit (I think) then it refers to the rca jacks that are red, white, yellow, may be more than one of either. In this way you could have cable on one input, a video player on another, and cable on still another by switching desired input. I use a UHF antenna but it didn't work till I got the right input and then searched for stations studying the menu for station setup, have to set up the stations first, it will configure settings for each station, and have it do that before you can expect to find and receive stations. With correct input you should get a blue screen or something with printing if input is right, click your menu button and will see the menu and then find where to configure stations setup, otherwise it is totally black and nothing happens, nothing responds, that's the wrong input.

Tv problem

Mine (2005 vintage) is doing the same thing. Wiggling the connector at the rear of the set cures the issue. however, it must be a loose connection inside. How about soldering the connector?

Any other ideas on how best to handle the soldering of the connector inside the set?

Model 2780R intermittant Picture & Sound Failure

The set has loose power conections to the tuner and judging by the model it might have other loose conections in the chassis, the loose conections need to be resoldered and might not be easy to find, try taping the side of the set to see if it reacts while is doing the problem.Be safe and call a technician unless you are familiar with tv service.
