Purchased a Zenith TV (model #Z20LCD1 Serial #609TPAE12392} the directions nor a remote was in the package. I am unable to change channels and it is on Channel 11 an ETV channel. When I go to the menue, manualy everything seems to be in spanish and I am unable to change to English. Please advise

go to setup in menu from fromt of set. do 1st time setup ...tell it you do NOT have a cable box. if it thinks you have one it deletes all channels but 3.

I suspect that your backlight has gone out. If you shine a light on the screen can you see remnants of the picture that should be displaying? If so, it's definitely the backlight, and most likely the power inverter for the backlight. You can probably find a replacement inverter, but you may need a repair manual to install it. I'd recommend checking the warranty status first and sending it in for repair if you can.

The problem is not a cable one, but a TV function. Pull out your user manual for your TV. My dad just had this happen, and he has a Sony WEGA TV. The auto sap is an AUTO Secondary Audio Program, you need to find the menu to back out of it.

sanyo ds35590 no remote, tried universial remote still cannot select menu on uvm. What remote do I need? Or can I get into the menu without remote. I am trying to watch a dvd.
