I have a Bosch dishwasher model # SHE44C06UC / 22. When I do a regular wash, it will count down to 1 minute and stay there. The dishawasher will constantly run until you hit the cancel button and the sanitized lite never comes on. The soap dispenser seems to be working, but the water never shuts off until you hit the cancel key and the dishes are always wet.

Hello, welcome to FixYa.

Based on your description
I'd say the issue actually is with the control...unfortunately. This is commonly associated with a heating fault on Bosch built dishwashers ( various models including Bosch, Thermador, Siemens, Gaggenau, and Neff ).

**B/S/H/ issued a recall on certain models between 1999 - 2006 depending on the model & serial number, you can check with yours but...you'll need the serial number too. Here`s the link if you want to see for yourself **

http://microsites.boschappliances.com/safetyrecall/dishwasher/

Since the issue is likely within the electronic timer/control, specifically the heater relay solder joint. ( a faulty flow switch, ntc or heater can also cause this, but not very probable ). These are the steps you'll need to follow to resolve it or at least investigate.

If you feel capable of checking this on your own, there`s a way to visually inspect the control yourself...it really isn't very complicated.

It will require you to remove the control from the unit and then remove the control from it`s plastic housing and look for a burnt solder contact on the printed circuit board.

The culprit will 99% of the times be one of the pins from the heater relay,

9f1823d.jpg

**Flip this over and inspect the solder joints, it will be obvious when you see it.**

hence the unit sit`s and takes longer & longer to finish because it can`t heat to advance or unless the 2 buttons for "cancel" are pressed...this can also manifest as a long cycle time as I mentioned and eventually display's "1" on units with a display and usually very poor cleaning, no heating ( don't be fooled by the homes inlet hot water temperature ) as a result.

You can also run the unit through a regular or econo cycle ...any cycle with the exception of rinse & hold, and with the door panel removed place an ammeter on the gray/black wire it should draw 11 amps during the wash cycle...after it fills and the flow switch indicates it has adequate water to engage the heater.

i.e. ( this may differ from your specific model, but the same rules apply )I have a Bosch dishwasher - f57273b.jpg>f57273b.jpg
**My Opinion - if you or someone you know is proficient at soldering, a lot of times it can be remedied by simply repairing the solder...but it has to be done well...or it will not last.
Bosch recommend`s replacing the control and I don`t pretend to speak on their behalf nor do I profess to know better. This is just my experience (it work`s) and my opinion (why buy new if one can repair ?)

**Please disconnect the power or turn off the breaker before attempting any service to the dishwasher.**

If you do not feel comfortable attempting this service, call a local pro, preferably one familiar with Bosch/Thermador/Gaggenau/Siemens, to service your machine.

Thank`s for visiting "FixYa" for your repair inquiries. Please take a moment and rate this solution to it's helpfulness. Good luck.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

My dishwasher (SHX43CO5UC) wouldn't stop, I smelled burned circuit, I followed this example and did find a the solder in question.
I've seemed to fix it, now at least the ON/OFF button works, I can at least turn off the dishwasher, previously, it wouldn't even stop when I open the door.

Now that I did the new soldering spot, I started the dishwasher, but it's not doing much, just a humming noise, but then nothing happens, no water, no movement, the soap is still in the dispenser.
do you think I forgot to plug something back on? Do I need a new control unit ?

Dead on!My model is the SHE56C05UC. I opened the front panel and removed the top plastic panel that holds the controls also. Then I unplugged the wires from the control panel, but only after taking a pic. This way I knew the sequence of the wires once ready to reconnect.I extracted the white plastic box from the control panel and opened it by pulling two small side clips and pressing 6 or 7 even smaller clips located on the box near the wire connections....and there it was: A burned out connection! See pic.A quick solder and it was fixed. I have a Bosch dishwasher - 10_21_2011_3_41_55_pm.jpg

Bosch SHE44C06UC/22 won't fill with water even though you hear water running somewhere.

Check to make sure there is no residual water underneath the unit, they have a flood sensor and if it is picking up water in the motor area it won;t run.

How do you run the diagnostic on a bosch dishwasher model # SHE44C06Uc/22. it counts down to one on the timer and runs forever. can't find it model # diagnostics anywhere. thanks

Resoldering the relay, regardless of how proficient one is at soldering, will not be a long term solution. The melted/burned solder joint is a secondary result of the initial failure, which is the relay itself. There is a solution that is more permanent and less costly than replacing the control with a new one.
Do a search for Bosch 266746 control and you will locate someone who has studied the problem and found a safe, long term solution.

You need a new microprocessor. Same thing happened to me. Normal cycle runs down to one minute and stops there, running, for maybe another hour or more. Then, when it finally ends, the dishes are not clean or dry. Get the microprocessor replaced. It is Chinese junk. It is an easy fix, but the replacement will last only four or five years.

That could either be a problem with the control module or the heating element...my first guess would be the heating element... as it is looking to sense it working and does not...
