I need instructions for singer meolodie 50 machine

Singer has many of the manuals for their machines here: https://www.singer.com/support . The current link to the model 50 manual is https://res.cloudinary.com/singer-sewing/image/upload/fl_attachment/Singer-Website-Library/outdated_product/SINGER_50_Sewing_Machine.pdf . See page 13 for the oiling directions. However, your numbers don't match the Singer serial numbers that I know. Most serial numbers either have no letters or one - two letters at the beginning of the number. There was a period when Singer used both a Registration and a Factory number to in the serial numbers. However, that ended before 1900 with the 12K batch.

User's Manuals, including yours, are available as a free download the Singer Sewing Machine website. Actually, when you enter CXL you get the XL-50 user's manual, which is essentially the same machine, although a few of the patterns may be different. The CXL, XL-50, XL-10 and XL-1 are basically the same machine; I own a CXL and XL-50, and love them. They can sew SIDEWAYS--straight AND zigzag stitch!

Remember that early Singer machines would only sew properly with number 40 or 50 mercerised thread, anything else and all sorts of things happen, top tension should be about 4 or 5

try sewusa loads of manuals and sewing diagrams. Since its a older machine.I would clean and oil it also.Lint can cause all kinds of issues.

I found the same numbers on my Singer, but learned that the 13608M is not the serial number. I finally found it on the bottom of the machine. It typically begins with either a single or double letter. You can find the Serial No. and Year of Issue at http://www.singerco.com/support/serial_numbers.html.
