I have a gas XL-44 Spectra GE oven. How do I use the self-cleaning feature. Do I just press the Self-Clean button and just wait for it to finish. I would appreciate your help.

Why does it say "Clean Door" during the self-cleaning procedure?

Never ever use the Self Clean feature. All it exists to do is to keep the makers in a steady stream of sales of spares. The temperature is 800 to 925'F. The parts can't handle it.

Try turning off at the breaker overnight to reset.

We used the self cleaning option and now we cannot get the oven door open. The lever is stuck in lock mode. Can you give suggestion?

Hello,

IF you can locate the model number tag (bottom left of door opening) you can look up the manual at www.geappliances.com

The only button on your stove that should make the door lock would be the clean button (self clean model) if that is pressed simply hit the clear/off or cancel key and wait for the door to unlock.

IF the self clean option ran for an hour or so, you will have to wait for the oven to cool down before the lock can unlock (safety feature)

Advise use of self clean feature on kenmore self clean oven 30''

If there is an up and down arrow on the control panel, you need to press the clean button first and then choose clean time with the up and down arrow. Be sure to remove the racks, if left in the oven they will be blackened by the extreme heat. Clean them separately with oven cleaner. Place them on newspaper and spray them.

How do I use the self cleaning option for my oven?

First remove the rack, because the extreme heat will tarnish the racks and the shinny coating will will no longer be there, press the cleaning button, and leave it this cycle will take approx.. 3-1/2 to 4- hours to clean and cool down will take another hour, it will tell you that it is cooling and also the the cleaning is complete. so let the cycle complete and all you will need to do is wipe off some residue once it is complete.

Door locked after cancelling self clean option

Open the door. In the upper left corner, press and hold the door switch (the one that controls the inside light). Start a self clean cycle and wait for lock motor to engage. When the lock stops moving it should be in the unlocked position. Press cancel to stop the self clean.

If you need more assistance let me know.
Good luck!
