It does sound like overheating. runs for a while, trips the high limit, then cools and restarts. this could be a supply power problem, under sized wiring, or loose or damaged terminals associated with the wiring.

When pump is on Bypass, water comes out strong through both inlet jets into the pool, but if pump is on normal (Filter), nothing comes out at the 2 jets. Water in the pump basket even drops somewhat.

could be clogged line take lid off pump have someone with garden hose shoot water back up the jet to see, or it could be a valve is set in the wrong position, it always nice to have two people for this job.

Replace pool pump impeller

NO, should have just a little resistance, you might have a hayward and the o-ring sticks to the impeller shaft and must be removed. OR you have the rotor bearings installed wrong, this too will cause improper shaft clearance.. should be a easy fix. good luck and vote if'n I was of help.. jay the pool pump motor repair guy longwood florida

Not self priming itself. when it turns off the water pushes back out of the skimmer and pushes the basket up. it loses water and the pump cant re-prime itself.

PRIME PUMP, OPEN AIR VALVE ON FILTER. OR TAKE THE LID OFF YOUR FILTER AND SEE IF IT STARTS TO PUMP... YOU DO HAVE IT PLUMBED RIGHT? THE PIPE COMING OUT OF THE PUMP GOES TO THE FILTER !! I'M YOUR LOCAL POOL PUMP REPAIR GUY IN LONGWOOD FLORIDA. WHERE THE POOL IS ALWAYS OPEN

My pool is green. why.and how do I fix it

according to your picture I see you are running the satand alone salt unit..
If you are running an intex filter/pump you are probably not getting enough filtration.
A pool turns green for many reasons such as not enough use to stir up the water
Not enough filtration
wrong levels of chemicals and so on

My suggestion
Start by testing your salt it needs to be as close to 3000ppm as possible
now shock your pool with either liquid chlorine or a substrate for your amount of gallons in the pool
After 24 hours of shocking brush your pool with a seperate pool brush sides and bottom
Do not depend on a pools vaccum with bristles you can not get enough elbow grease going to make it work well
now that it is brushed wait 24 hours and then vaccum.
Do this until the water clears
You also need to blow out the filter cartridge at least 3 times a day so that it cleans efficiently

once your pool starts to clear up again make sure your salt is 3000ppm
now make sure your ph is close to 7.6
and make sure you put a stabilizer in to help hold your chlorine level longer

I do not know what gallon your pool is so I will just use generic #'s to discribe what a pool needs

A pool need to be turned over at LEAST 3 times in a filter cycle so if you have a 2500gl ph pump and your pool is 5000 that is 6 hours of filtering alone
When you are generating salt you should count the 6 hours as half the intex units do not filter well while generating chlorine. you may be told differently by intex but I have had my set up for 3 seasons and have found what works for me
an intex pump draws as much electric as about a 40 watt light bulb
so I run mine 24/7

I generat my chlorine at the end of the day any where from 3 -7 hours depending on # of bathers, sun, heat, suntan oils and so on then I filter the rest of the time I also clean out my cartridge every day.
It is best to have 2 filters one in the pump and one drying. I do not know why but a wet filter after cleaning does not filter as good as a filter that has been clean and dried

Again for your problem now shock filter brush and repeat ti'll it clears up
Once a pool goes green it is a lot of work to get it back on track
hope this helps

Lost manual

I am assuming you have poured in the correct amount of salt. If not post the size of the pool and I can list the correct amount. Now, you will need to set the hours of operation according to the size of the pool which I need to know in order to help more. I will go through the procedure of startup. When you turn the pump on after dissolving the salt in the pool, it will show a code 88 which is normal. Press and hold the down button for 2 seconds until you hear a short beep. The LED will flash 00. Your keypad is now unlocked. Push the up button to set the number of daily hours of operation according to the size of your pool. Up to add hours, down to remove an hour. If you do not have an owner's manual tell me the size and where you live and I can tell you how much salt to add and hours each day to run.
