RCA TruFlat HD27F534T - No Power

TV will not turn on. Tried alternate outlets and let it sit unplugged for 5 minutes to "reset" as suggested by manual. No dice.
Any ideas? Have had for 2 years.

Does the red light come on on the front of the TV to let you know it is getting power? Does the menu come on? If the menu desn't come or the red light you might need to take it to RCA or a good repair place. If you checked different outlets it sseems to be a TV problem.

Rca truflat won't turn on
Leave it unplugged for a few weeks, the charge will run out of the CMOS battery inside, and when you plug it in again, it should be reset. There is no other alternative shy from bringing it to a professional, but you'd have done that already.

Rca tv stuck on auto search
Make a hard reset to this set at first and check. If it does not help you, check and replace the main system memory IC.
Unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it after 5 minutes or so. This must make the TV to a hard reset. Try it.

Rca l26wd23 will not turn on, screen remains blank.
TVs today are becoming similar to computers and use hardware and software to deliver the picture and the sound. Similar to how a computer can lock-up and then you have to re-boot, TVs sometimes have problems that you can fix by resetting, or rebooting, them. To reset your TV, unplug the power cord from the wall outlet, power strip, etc. Keep your TV unplugged for about 5 minutes. Then, plug the TV back in, turn the TV on, and see if the problem is fixed. If the problem remains, then please contact RCA Customer Support using the Support link in the top navigation on this page.

TV alternately turns off and on continuously. Rebooted receiver box. Tried unplugging everything but no change.
If the set is turning off and on it indicates a high voltage problem, I have found when the horizontal output transistor shorts it causes the same symptom, this part is located right next to the fly-back transformer mounted on a heat sink.

try these steps
On occasion, an RCA television may need to have certain options reset in order to restore default settings. Software resets, such as resetting the Picture Control, the Parental Control lock and the Wake-Up Timer, can easily be restored to the default settings by accessing the settings menu via the remote control. A Hard Reset is recommended if there are hardware problems with the TV, such as a loss of picture or if the TV isn't turning on properly.
if that doesn't work try these steps

  • Unplug the TV's power cord from the electrical outlet.


  • Wait 5 minutes.


  • Plug the TV's electrical cord back into the electrical outlet. If this does not resolve the problem contact RCA Customer Support or a local technician store
