Epson tm-t88III is printing very slow! How to fix this problem? Also the cashdrawer does not open.

Go to Control Panel - Device Manager & find your Printer i.e. little arrow by the Imaging devices. Right click the T88 & click upgrade drivers, then clik the upper choice & it will go to Microsoft & find the correct driver for that unit & install it. (must be on line) That should solve your problem If not call Epson

Since you are using the USB-to-serial converter, you need to select the serial interface in the printer driver installation.

1. Uninstall the driver in Control Panel > Add or remove programs
2. Restart the computer
3. Install the printer driver again, this time select serial in the interface list
4. Set the properties for the serial port to 9600 for the data rate
5. Print a test page!

The Epson TM-T88III is a thermal printer so it does not use ink, it prints on special thermal paper only. Be sure you have the correct paper in the unit. If it is correct and the printer still does not print then you have a problem with the print head and the printer will need to go in for service.

Try printing something that is formatted properly to fit on a receipt roll printer. the Windows test page will always be slow on a receipt roll printer, because it is formatted for 8-1/2" X 11" pritners and contains graphics. I suspect that actual printing will be fine.

It could be due to the port at the back being dirty - clean it (unplug first) and try. If not - the printer itself may be on its way out.

You can set this up under printer settings - Under Windows XP - At the control panel, click printers, right click the tm-t88iii printer and select properties. Click the 'Device Settings' tab and there *should* be a option to open the cash drawer after printing.

This is definitly a driver problem. Change the driver to one that is compatible with Win XP.

Does it have a manual insert for the paper?
If it does, try putting the paper in that.
If not, or if that doesn't work, I recommend trying to reinstall the printer and drivers.

unistall the epson driver.
reboot your system.
connect and turn on the printer.
reinstall the driver, v3.02, selecting for create a serial port.
choose the right setting os serial interface.
after install, reboot your system.
