Have a private folder in message in my phone, N73. Trying to delete them +/- 3500 messages, but everytime i mark all or try delete the folder, it searches, and then does nothing, or does not delete. Slowing my phone and affecting my memory...

No =( Once deleted they are irrevocably removed from the memory on your phone.

Remove MCard and try agin if it's opened you must open your memory on computer and delete private folder.
if no you have to format your phone

Hi there i am trying to fix my phone too. To delete the message via the handset use the tick button to select your menu choice and the volume up and down to scroll through the messages. Listen to messages and delete them all using the x secrecy button. Hope this helps.

maybe this one will help, goto messaging,delete all inbox,also outbox,also check my folders,maybe you have save many files, which was recieve thru bluetooth,and was save on my folder.check it out.now if you want to use *#7370# make sure to backup all of your files to memory card.To do that, goto menu,tools,then click memory,click options,select backup phone memory.

Which connection type you are using while connecting your mobile through pc, Mass Storage Device OR Nokia PC Suite? -In nokia pc suite phone does not show it's own System Folders and Private Folders. -In mass storage device option it shows all system and private folders. So don't delete those folders.

This procedure is for copying messages from SIM card to phone memory of Nokia N-Series phones.

1. Browse Menu>Messaging
2. Press Options
3. Select SIM Messages
4. Press Options
   
5. Select Mark/Unmark
6. Scroll and select Mark all if you want to copy all messages from your SIM card.
7. Press Options
8. Select Copy
9. Scroll to the folder where you want to save the messages then press OK.

On S60 3rd Edition, ie, your phone N73 (or rather on all Symbian OS 9.x based devices) applications store their data in private folders which cannot be accessed with regular file browsers...

Hwever you can se your PC suite software to sync the message to OUTLOOK message folder and you can get the message backuped in the system, which can be opened in outlook

Steps to follow when the phone memory is full:

1. If the message memory is full you’ll be shown Memory full. Unable to receive messages is
2. To delete old messages, Select OK and Press Yes and the folder.
3. Navigate to the desired message and Select Delete.
4. Choose Mark, to delete more messages. Mark all the messages you want to delete, Choose Options and Press Delete marked.

i have that kind of problem on my n73, it alway flashes memory full and i cannot recieve any sms, i formated my n73 using the dialkey*3 procedure and after reformating it cleared my phone memory, of courese u have to back up all important data, formating your phone will erase everything.
