wireless capability on my acer laptop is a switch that you toggle on the front of the computer.

I suspect that you just need to slide the switch over and release to turn the light on for WiFi and also to turn the WiFi capability on.

The toggle switch is on the front of your laptop next to the headset input jack. You can also try these keys pressed at the same time: fn F2. Not all aspire models have a toggle switch-it is optional on many.

Wireless modem wont do wireless
Make sure you use the wireless password. if that doesn't work make sure the wireless is switched on, Your Mode/router came with a manual, this will tell you how to access your modem functions. or go to the website of the modem manufacturer and download the manual from there. We can't tell you how to do it as we don't know the make and model of the router.

Please be sure that, the machine has a integrated wireless receiver. Then you have to make a new wireless connection and not a lan cable connection.
