Why do I get the error message: "Unable to establish a secure connection"?
This error can occurs because the VeriSign Certificate Authority (CA) has changed the hashing algorithm that is used for new Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) server certificates from Message Digest 5 (MD-5) to Secure Hash Algorithm 1 (SHA1). A supported fix is now available from Microsoft for Windows CE 2.11 and Pocket Explorer 3.0 this fix can be found at: http://www.microsoft.com/mobile/handheldpc/downloads/128bit.asp Note: After you have downloaded and installed the fix, be sure to soft reset the device.
Multi-link negotiation is turned on for the single-link connection.
The dial-up connection security configuration is incorrectly configured to use the Require secured password setting.
Press Windows + X keys on the keyboard and select Control Panel
Type Troubleshooting in the search bar on the Control Panel.
Click on View all on the left navigation pane.
Click on Internet connection.
Click on Advanced on the Internet connection dialog box and click on Run as administrator (Enter the credentials if required).
Click on Next and follow onscreen instruction complete the Internet connection troubleshooter.
