Optoma HD20 DLP Projector Logo
A
Anonymous Posted on Aug 11, 2011

Projector powers up as normal, bulb comes on, displays Optoma logo on screen and menu will show on screen. The issue is that although I have 3 devices plugged into the HDMI port of the device using a HDMI splitter the device sees no input. The projector has worked flawlessly for months and now this issue has come up. What I have already done: bypassed the splitter and plugged devices directly into the projector, used different HDMI cables. No change, projector continuously scans for a signal and shows "no signal"

There is a source lock and source button I would unlock source lock button and the push source button until you get to your hdmi input you are using. You also may just plug in one input first and once you get the input right play with the multiple hdmis

Reset instructions according to this

Optoma Service Menu Instructions Most of our Optoma Service Menu methods require the use of an original remote, typically you can not do it with just the buttons on the front of the set. Method 1
  1. Press simultaneously {UP} & {ENTER} buttons twice.
  2. Press simultaneously {LEFT} & {ENTER} buttons twice.
  3. A Service Menu will be displayed
    1. Then to access the Full Service Menu: Press the {UP}, {LEFT} & {DOWN} buttons once.
  4. To exit, turn the Projector Off.
Method 2
  1. Press the {UP} {UP} {LEFT} {LEFT} buttons.
Method 3
  1. Press the {POWER} {LEFT} {LEFT} {MENU} buttons.
Method 4

When turning on the projector it shows the Optoma logo but will not boot to the home screen. Is there a way to reload the home screen software?

Depends on the model. If you saw a little fan, then there is a fan problem. There might be 3 fans. 2 square ones and one blower fan. Look for plugs with 3 wires(red/white/black or red/yellow/black). Those will lead to the fans from the mainboard. Occasionally the fan will spin but the tachometer lead will stop reporting the fan status and the projector shuts down. To being with I would clean out the projector fans and ducts thoroughly. That may clear up the issue. Otherwise there is a button press sequence to enable the service menu, but you cannot upload new firmware without special optoma software that isnt available. Another possibility is you have failing filter capacitors in the power supply. Be careful poking around under the hood. There is lethal high voltage possibly stored even when unplugged.

Bulb blows on gt700

Possibly a bad ballast or power supply going to it causing it to either kill the bulb or your old bulb may still be good. Did you rest the counter in the menu for the bulb life after replacing?

My Optoma TX780 projector is not working and all the indicators ie, Temp, Power and Lamp are on. I have changed the lamp though and it worked for a while then the lights came on and would not come on.

you need to reset the Bulb Hours in the on screen menu. it turns off because the bulb contains mercury and after a certain amount of hours the bulb will burst, spreading mercury every where. reset the bulb hours and it should stay on.

Optoma hd65 projector new bulb wont turn on...cant reset timer!

I think it's a lamp driver issue from what I've seen others have gone through. I also read that if you go through the sequence of unplugging, plug back in, wait 20 seconds and try to turn on, multiple times, it will finally kick on and work. I just got mine to turn back on by doing this and waiting through the fan cycling without the light turning on. After the 4th sequence the light flickered. After the 7th sequence it finally turned on and is working. Now I can watch the Super Bowl and will look into replacing soon.

Full Desktop does not appear, video does not show.

You must tell the laptop to change display mode--there are 3...Normally, the key-press is something like "function key, F4"--look for a small tv screen symbol on one of the "F" keys--default mode is "laptop only", Press and hold "fn" and then press the appropriate "F" key, the laptop will switch to "laptop/external display". Another set of key presses will get "external display only" mode. And, finally, the next sequence will bring you back to the default mode. Make sure you turn on the computer and *then* turn on the projector to head off any sync probs.---Rick

Optoma EzPro 610H Multimedia Projector Display is all white

Your projector is LCD based. That is, basically, a tiny panel is a computer monitor with a lamp behind it to shine through the panel and lense, onto the screen. This all white screen means the pixels of the LCD are all "deactivated" allowing all the white light through. This happens on computer monitors from time to time. I cannot find a blind reset, meaning there's isn't a method of holding down a series of buttons to "reset" the projector.

aside from calling support, as their manual is useless, I would recommend powering the unit off and then unplugging all cables, including power.

Press and and hold the power buttons for 20 to 30 seconds to see if it clears up your issue. Sometimes, after unplugging the unit and pressing the power button on the projector will briefly light the panel lights and then they fade. This may be enough to drain enough power to force the projector to reset to normal conditions.

If if that doesn't work, I'd recommend leaving it unplugged for a day or so and try it again. Beyond that, the controller board for the display may have failed. It shouldn't be the case, but it is possible.

However, I feel the unit needs a simple reset, which normally you'd do though the menses, which obviously possible.

Optima H30 warning

OK, found the solution on the net, you have to use the buttons on the projector instead of the remote to access the menu item.
