Not receiving text messages

I often do not receive text messages that people send to me on my 8130. Last night, I sent someone 3 messages and they replied to all of them, but I didn't get a single message. This happens frequently with my phone. Anyone know what the trouble might be?

    Yep, mine is doing the same thing.... only problem is, when I back up to a earlier date, it seems to work fine for a few days. Then the same thing happens again.... thought it was the sim card, (which I can't even find) but not sure. Started doing it again...... very very frustrating

    I am having the same problem, just got my phone about a month ago. It is very aggrevating all my texts get deleted randomly and a lot of times I do not even receive new ones.

    I have the same problem. It also erases e-mails occasionally and texts also just disappear and sometimes show up for 2 seconds and go away before I can even read them. Pulling out the battery used to work for me, but the past few days it will not solve anything.

    I am having a SIMILAR problem.  Instead of me not getting the texts on my pearl, it's the other way around.  A few people aren't getting the texts I send them (but not everyone).  Does anyone know if this is a problem with my phone or theirs? And how it can be fixed?

    same for me , i get a text and see the little text indicator come up and then in erases before i even have a chance to read it, and sometimes i wont even get text at all, i never know if people are sending me text or not and i have to keep guessing when to ask if they sent me something...extremely annoying!!!

    I have just gotten this phone. It randomly deletes messages, call logs, etc. I show missed calls but the call log is empty! SO frustrating. I have several friends calling asking if I am okay or angry as they have tried MULTIPLE times to text me w/ no responses. I did NOT and have NOT received the texts. I have unlimited texting if that tells you how many I normally get and since I have gotten this phone...i have received less than 1/4 of what I normally got. I am very UNHAPPY with this phone. Addtiionally many times when I show a missed call the phone is right next to me and it NEVER rang! The little hour glass turns then all the sudden it shows a missed call but not whom it's from. SO if they do not leave a message then I do not know who has called.

You are running out of memory, just free up your memory. You can do this by doing some or all of the following:

  • Clear your log (hold alt and press lglg>then menu key>select "Clear Log">confirm)
  • Close programs you're not currently using (hold alt and back button) Some items will always be running like messages, phone, browser, home screen so on and so forth, leave those running
  • Uninstall themes and programs that you are not using anymore (Options>Advanced Options>Applications) [Leave the following applications on the phone or you will have trouble: BlackBerry "Version # i.e. 4.2" Core Applications; BlackBerry System Software; BlackBerry Attachment Service; Browser; Help; Phone. The rest are if you use them or not i.e. Tasks; MemoPad, BB Messenger, if you don't use them then you can delete them without major problems on your phone)
  • Move photos, music, video and other multimedia over to your disc instead on the actual BB device. Also delete ringtones that you no longer use
  • From your desktop uninstall languages that you do not need
  • Delete out your old text messages and emails, try to save them on your computer instead of your laptop (with email) or forward text messages that you need to your email then delete the actual text message
This should be a good start to clearing out your memory and start receiving text messages again along with your call logs showing up. If you remove an application it will ask to reboot, let it and then send a text message from online to make sure that you're up and working again. Then maintenance your BlackBerry about every week afterwards depending on your storing habits. Hope it works!

Go to options/security options/firewall/then see if any of the options is checked,then uncheck them

Mine is doing the same thing
i just got my pearl two days ago, love it and have had no problems with it until now
i send somebody a text message and it will pop up for a split second and just go away

I have tried that and just about everything else--it actually DOES NOT work.  I have heard that this issue is a result of a "memory leak" in the BlackBerry OS, but that there is currently no solution.  Unfortunately I do not have a solution, but was wondering which service providers each of you use. Thanks!

Download the new 4.5 os for the pearl. this will fix any issues having to do with deleted txt messages and call logs. get it from blackberry's website.

    the only solution to this issue is to download the new software for the blackberry pearl. 4.5. you can check what current version you have by going into options>about> itll say something like "v 4.3" or if you have current version you'll see "v 4.5". this new version will help you send mms as well.

Once a text message is sent, it's sent. There is no way to stop the send or delete the message.

Receiving text messages with pictures

This model not the best for doing & receiving pictures or texts. But I sometimes have issue above if someone has sent a message or a picture to me as part of a group message. I seem to have less issues if they send it to just me directly. Next time someone sends you one, text them back & ask them to send you pic/message seperately, not within a group & see if that helps

Did you ever find a solution to this problem? The exact same thing happened to my friend two days ago. Someone sent them the same message repeatedly, and he can no longer receive any messages, other than multimedia.

I think the problem here is with your connection. I understand that you have the right settings from your operator...however you should check with them to see if your line is data enabled for MMS (this is how your pictures are sent....in an MMS message).

Texting

In T630 go to Message>Text>Options>Service Centres>Sellect>Edit, Then edit the no frm someone having the same Network. It will Work!
