We've had the Asko for about a year and a half and I cleaned the pin trap in the first six months. Tried to do clean #2 tonite and cannot get into the trap. The manual sez to 'Unscrew the Pin trap cover and lift it out.' I twist the white cover, it comes off and exposes a white circular facing that I cannot budge. I have tried to force it out by pulling at its sides with 2 screw drivers, but don't want to damage anything. Any hints? Thanks
I also had this problem. Here is what I did. When the white cover comes off, it exposes the white circular facing. That's ok, once we get the pin trap out, the cover snaps back on. What has happened is that the pin trap is so full (of money in my case) that it is jammed. The facing has an indentation, but you can't get a grip on it with something like pliers because pliers squeeze, they don't spread. I found a tool at the hardware store called "chain pliers" that when you squeeze them, the jaws spread. There were multiple indentations on them, the first set were pretty thin and I was afraid I'd break the plastic lip on the facing. So I cut the tips of the chain pliers off with a hack saw. Once I got a grip on the facing, I jiggled it in and out until it released.
You have coins etc stuck in it you will need to force the pin trap out you can buy a new one
My pin trap was jammed in the housing with coins, rubber bands, and other stuff...:o(
Here is what we didhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9zIDhKq-... I hope it helps you.

I had the same problem, thank you for you post as I would have wasted heaps of money on repairs! I didnt have the pliars you have though, I just forced it out with screwdrivers, $15 worth of golidies and 6 peices of builders chalk later it is unblocked and away I wash again!!!!!
Could you please tell me how to open the pin trap as mine will not come off either. Also how to open the door manually as I have a power blackout and need to get wahing out of machine.
Thankyou,
Leigh
Hello &
Welcome to FixYa
If you have
already cleaned the drain filter assembly located inside the bottom front panel
and the problem is not solved then it is the drain pump that is bad and needs
replacement. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

I, too, have this problem. Cannot even budge using a chizel that is the size. Don't find anyone who has an answer. If you did find a way to do it, please let me know. Oh, my model is the 6221.

Yes, the XXXn pin trap will not come out after the cover is removed. How do you remove it without breaking it into small pieces?
Pin trap cover won't turn
