Hello! I have a roper top loader and it doesn't spin. It fills up and drains just fine, but has a really slow spin like its not gripping the belt. I know this sounds silly but when I took off the middle part I looked down where the belt should be and it was **** in half so i figured that is the problem but I just read on here that it could be a motor coupler? what do you think?

is this a top loader??there are clips on the edges of the top..they require use of a regular screw driver(flat blade) inserted between the top and sides..them it should pry up and tilt to the back..on hinges..

it isnt the door lock or it would not work on the first 2 spin cycles and unless you have huge out of balance loads the door(not lid as lids are only on top loaders) interlock probably isn't at fault. i would cleanout the tub to pump trap inspect the pump for blockage and flush the discharge hose. it doesn't cost a penny to do this and has fixed many front loaders with the same problem

Sounds like the lid switch is not working. Press down on lid or switch.

The drive gear for the functioning unit sounds like it has gone south. Unless you are familiar with changing devices like this, I would call your local appliance guy!

go to www.repairclinic.com and enter your model number. the first part you see is what is wrong with your washer's spin. replace that and you'll be good. this is found underneath between the motor and the transmission.

chek the water elctrovalvles and replace it , this most be 1 solution another will the hyperstatic hose or sensor of load size

Your drain pump is clogged.
Remove the cabinet, remove the pump and remove whatever is clogging the pump.
The pump is located in front of the drive motor.

If the motor doesnt run during the spin cycle and the tub stays full of water. You need to replace the lid switch. This is very common problem. The part should be around 35 bucks. Easy fix.

if the appliance has a induction type motor could be that the running capacitor is failing coul be the motor itself
