If customers do not feel comfortable upgrading the DiMAGE 7 firmware themselves, they can send the camera in to the NJ repair facility with a note stating "Please Upgrade Firmware". Their camera will be upgraded, and they will be charged $49.95 (plus tax and shipping). They will receive back their upgraded camera, and a DiMAGE Viewer Ver 1.2 Upgrade CD-Rom*. (They will not receive the firmware upgrade on CD-Rom or the new DiMAGE Viewer) There is a 2-3 week turn around time once payment has been authorized. * images captured with an upgraded camera cannot be opened using previous versions of the DiMAGE Image Viewer Utility 1.11 or earlier. A DiMAGE Viewer Ver 1.2 upgrade CD-rom has been bundled with the DiMAGE 7 Optional Enhancement UPGRADE Firmware. The previous version of DiMAGE Image Viewer Utility must be installed before the DiMAGE Viewer (Ver 1.2) update can be loaded. If customers do not feel comfortable upgrading the DiMAGE 7 firmware themselves, but they want the DiMAGE 7 Optional Enhancement UPGRADE and the New DiMAGE Viewer 2.0, they should purchase the kit through our on-line store, then send the camera in to the NJ repair facility with the Firmware UPGRADE CD-Rom that they purchased. As long as the firmware CD-Rom is sent with the camera, and the camera does not show damage that may void the warranty or cause the firmware to not install properly, there will be no charge for the camera to be upgraded. There is a 2-3 week turn around time once the camera has be received. If customers attempt to install the firmware upgrade on their camera and experience a problem, or the upgrade does not complete, they should send the camera in to our NJ repair facility with the Firmware UPGRADE CD-Rom and a description of the problem. As long as the firmware CD-Rom is sent with the camera, and the camera does not show damage that may void the warranty or cause the firmware to not install properly, there will be no charge for the camera to be upgraded. There is a 2-3 week turn around time once the camera has be received.

Windows Installation Disc VS Windows Upgrade Disc -NOT THE SAME-

Having Trouble Booting To Your Windows Upgrade Disc?

...Upgrade discs aren't bootable discs. To repair a windows installation, you must use either a system repair disc or, better yet, a windows installation disc (genuine Retail/OEM discs are pretty much your only option to completely reinstall your windows operating system, unless you own a previous full installation disc of a previously released Windows version (such as XP or Vista), in which case you could install that windows operating system and then upgrade to a newer windows OS like windows 7. however if you ever need to reinstall windows 7, you would either need to reinstall the older windows OS, then upgrade to the newer one.

If that isn't clear, I'll sum it up....

Let's say you bought a computer, that computer had windows xp home edition. Maybe you wanted to upgrade from Windows XP/Windows Vista or Windows 7?
Well in order to switch from Windows XP/Vista to Windows 7, (or even from Windows 7 home premium- to windows7 Pro or Ultimate), then you must either:
A) Buy an upgrade disc and upgrade to the newer desired version.
B) Or, Buy a Retail Copy of the version you want to install. (keep in mind that a retail Windows 7 disc can be used to perform an upgrade rather than to competely wipe the hard disc and perform a clean install (delete partitions, reformat, and perform a new windows installation), if you so choose.

The bottom line is, you cannot Install a fresh clean copy of windows using an upgrade disc. OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and Retail Windows Operation System Installation Setup Discs are "Bootable Discs". Windows Upgrade Discs are NOT bootable. (unless one where to "modify that particular disc, which is not legal).

The only other way to get the English language is to use the recovery partition or recovery disk to start over from scratch.

If there is anything else please post back..

Good luck.

In that case you should upgrade your Ram,memory and graphics card.If you are using 1gb Ram then upgrade it to 3gb by adding 2gb Ram.Then you can see the difference. You can also upgrade your memory like that.If you are using 500gb Memory then upgrade it to 1tb Memory. Then you can see and feel much difference.Upgrading graphics card is an optional thing. If you upgrade it you can see difference in gaming and in your system graphics.

If you do all this things surely your system will improve it's performance.

Installation and Usage Tips for the DiMAGE 7 Optional Enhancement Upgrade:

Taken from the DiMAGE 7 Upgrade Software Installation Pamphlet… Power Supply during Update: When performing the software update, please use a set of fully charged NI-MH (nickel hydrogen) batteries or the AC Adapter AC-1L or AC-2L (sold separately). When using the AC Adapter, be sure not to inadvertently disconnect the camera during the software updating procedure, otherwise the camera may be permanently damaged. Amendment to the DiMAGE 7 Upgrade Software manual… (Located on an insertion card within Upgrade Kit and Upgrade Firmware boxes) For Windows XP users: Do not copy the dsc.app and ram.bin files directly from the CD-ROM to the CF card or the upgrade will not be executed correctly. First copy these two files onto the computer’s hard drive or desktop, and then copy them into the CF card. After upgrading: When the camera is turned to the playback mode, the no-image message appears and the images taken before the upgrade are not displayed. These images were placed in a folder with names ending in MLT03, the upgraded camera places images in folders ending in MLT14, see CompactFlash card folder organization in the DiMAGE 7 manual. To view images taken before the upgrade, select the appropriate folder in the custom 1 section of the setup menu. Refer to DiMAGE 7 manual for a description of this function. When using autofocus with the wide focus frame, the live image may freeze for an instant as the AF system determines the focus. This is because autofocus speed is increased

What equipment is required when upgrading to the DiMAGE 7 Optional Enhancement Upgrade?

A PC or Macintosh with a CD-ROM drive and the DiMAGE 7 interface kit are required. If you do not have the Dimage 7 interface kit, a CF card reader/writer can be used for updating.

After upgrading the DiMAGE 7 to the Optional Enhancement software, when AF is confirmed on the DiMAGE 7 the live image on the LCD stops, is this a problem?

This is not a problem. In order to achieve faster AF operation, the live image on the LCD is not refreshed during focusing. During flex focus point, the live image on LCD never stops. If you feel anxious about the live image stoping, we recommend you to use flex focus point.
