If you're unable to find the cmos battery you'll need to do a hard reset on the CMOS using a jumper or dipswitch on the motherboard. Information on finding these can be found through your computer or motherboard documentation.

Reset cmos/bios

I would usually search the manufacture website for the mother board specs and FAQ's. Usually incorrectly setting the cmos/bios and rebooting fails several times, it will reset to the manufactures default settings. I have needed to use another monitor if the PC has more then 1 VGA or higher def port to see what the messages are reporting. There are other control and function key combos, varies by manufactures.

Como resetar a senha da Bios do notebool Dell Inspíron 6000, ou qual a senha de fábrica?

To reset the BIOS password read the information from this link.

In case of your laptop the easiest method would be using software from Hiren's Boot CD as it's pretty hard to open it up and reach for the CMOS battery or the jumper and I wouldn't recommend doing it especially if it's under warranty.

I have a dell inspiron 6000 laptop. I found it. it won't go to boot menu, or setup. Somehow it has a password authentication password, how to I bypass that and do a complete system restore on it... PLEASE...

If you cannot access the machine after if has been powered up, it is still possible to get past the BIOS password. The BIOS password is stored in CMOS memory that is maintained while the PC is powered off by a small battery, which is attached to the motherboard. If you remove this battery, all CMOS information (including the BIOS password) will be lost. You will need to re-enter the correct CMOS setup information to use the machine. The machines owner or user will most likely be alarmed when it is discovered that the BIOS password has been deleted.

Firstly you can reset bios settings to default if you can find this option, use "tab" and arrow keys to navigate and "tab "or enter to select options .. Run through a few times to get to know the bios pages dont alter anything untill your sure you know what your doing --you will be given the option to save changes and quit
