The overload should be as you describe if there is interaption then you should push for reset and here the click. However from your other description this is not your issue. The overload is usualy trip off when you have a urn or damage wirring of the rotor and this when it rotates for some seconds or minutes and trip off. And of course when the juicer have been used excesivly.
Your problem is most posible the starting capacitor which is in parralell with the rotor which is responsible for starting the motor. First you should remove all attachments knife and filter from the top and start to be sure that nothing is blocking the motor to run and if it still freeze then you should check the two carbon contacts of the rotor conetion points if they are in good contact. If they are ok the you should replace the capacitor.

This is one of them questions that doesnt conjure up a answer straight away ,from your description i would expect to find that a bearing has seized up from lack of use causing the buzzing noise which is the windings overheating ,this is a problem that will require it to be stripped and looked at by a repair man whos used to repairing small machines like this so look for a local agent but if you cannot find a local one then ask in a electrical shop if they have a man or know someone who would have a look for you .A quick strip and look might be able to see what the problem is and maybe drop of oil and twist with a pair of pliars will free it off or a new bush or bearing ??

The shaft spins freely.I took the base off the unit and there is no evidence of seizure.one other point should the overload switch click when i push it -there is no evidence of a"click".Would it only click if it is overloaded and then reset?.Could this be the problem?
Thanks, what does capacitor look like?
Thanks for the help and for leading me to a source for parts.
