I have a 2 stroke ryobi brushcutter. No spark at a new plug. Ohm reading is 1.2 on the secondary coil, and 3.91 on the primary. Are these readings acceptable ?

Check the lead going from the ignition module to the plug. some are sealed and moulded, others the cable just screws onto a spike on the module. Then check the boot end, if it can be removed, make sure there is a good connection to the inner wire core in the cable. I cant find anywhere that gives you ohm readings of what the output should be tho.

Ryobi RLT 30c keeps stoping

I'd be checking the wires and run stop switch if wires and switch fine then look at changing the coil pack there is not a lot to stop it running

Ryobi rlt 30 cesa petrol strimmer will not start

Keith you have got to make sure the gap is right between the coil and the magnetic flywheel. Use a buisness card to set the gap and make sure the coil is on the right way.

Ryobi petrol line trimmer keeps on stopping

RLT26HT
the HT just means you have a hedgetrimmer attachment with it
the machine itself is a rlt26cds
remove your exhaust check the piston and the rings are not stuck
if piston is ok
then i would say it was either your carb need tightening and retuning
but not to tight or you will crack your bakerlite manifold
once you have done that
you will need a special carb adjusting tool (we call it the packman tool) if you remember the game packman thats what it looks like
at the end
the carb settings are screw all the way in do not over tighten the screws
and 2 turns out on both the screws
the screw nearest to the engine is your low revs
the outside screw is your high revs (you adjust this at full throttle)
this should get you started
if it still cuts out then it is your lead wire
that goes from your ignition module to the plug under neath you machine
hope this helps

My Ryobi 77 line trimmers revs like mad when I

Hi and welcome to FiXya. I am Kelly

What your describing it the result of fuel starvation. This can be caused by:

1. Debris in the fuel line or a crack in the fuel line
2 A clogged "fuel tank" internal pick up hose screen
3. A pinched fuel line
4. A clogged needle jet seat
5. A hole in the carb diaphram
6. Debris in the fuel air mixture screw / needle passages
7. A non vented gas tank cap.

Any of the above can cause the symtom you described. For sure it is a fuel supply problem.

I tried crossing the part numbers for just a Ryobi Model 77 and was unalbe to cross it to a working model number.

I came up with 2 different carb part numbers using a 30 CC engine

1st PN: 791-182875
2nd PN: 985624001

If you can pass the exact Model Number, I can provide you with a source for the carb or parts.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Kelly
